(54) A fluid pressure proving system


(57) A fluid pressure proving system for examining the integrity of, for example, a gas supply system including pipework leading to a number of gas outlets such as might be found in a school laboratory, the system comprising a shut-off valve (14) with actuating means (22) therefor connected to a control unit (20), a pair of pressure transducers (15, 16) connected respectively to the inlet and outlet sides of the flow control valve (14) and adapted to produce signals representative of the pressures the inlet and outlet sides, the control unit (20) including a micro-processor to determine the pressure differential and to cause closure of the flow control valve (14), or to prevent its opening, in the event of a leak in the gas outlets (12). The system also includes a timer (42) whereby the gas supply system is shut down automatically after a predetermined period of non-use.
