(54) A cover for sanitary fittings

(57) A cover for sanitary fittings comprising at least a cover (1) realized out of inox steel.

Description

[0001] The present invention concerns a cover for sanitary fittings, of the kind comprising at least a cover, or a ring and a cover, which will work as a closing device, or as a sitting and closing device, respectively for urinals and bowls, also called sanitary bowls or sitting bowls or simply sanitary fittings.

[0002] It is well known that for closing sanitary bowls and in particular urinals or sitting bowls, respectively covers and bowl-covers are used conventionally made out of plastic materials, resins or wood.

[0003] Such devices must be duly washed and disinfected, especially if used in a promiscuous manner, in public toilets, on transport means, in communities, in shops, etc.

[0004] The materials known and used at present for realizing such covers for sanitary fittings tend to modify the aesthetical aspect of said covers, to deteriorate due to mechanic action and chemical abrasions of the means and products used for cleaning, and to favour the settlement of dirt, bacteria and germs.

[0005] It is the aim of the present invention to eliminate all above-mentioned inconveniences.

[0006] The main aim of the present invention consists in realizing a cover for sanitary fittings that allows to stand in time the cleaning and disinfecting processes without modifying the aesthetical aspect nor the features of mechanical resistance or hygiene thereof.

[0007] It is a further aim of the present invention to realize a device that may be quickly and easily removed from the bowl for being cleaned in another seat.

[0008] The aims set forth are reached by means of a cover for sanitary fittings according to the present invention, comprising a cover and characterized in that the material used for the realization of said cover is inox steel.

[0009] Conveniently, the used inox steel is of the kind ASI 304.

[0010] For avoiding possible and casual cuts, the edge of said cover is curved.

[0011] For allowing closing and sitting for W.C. bowls, the cover for sanitary fittings according to the present invention conveniently comprises also a ring.

[0012] For a greater comfort in use, the cover for sanitary fittings of the kind used for W.C. bowls may get hooked by means of joints to the sanitary bowl.

[0013] For allowing the quick removal of the cover for sanitary fittings from the sanitary bowls, the joint means are removable by means of male-female couplings.

[0014] The advantages obtained by means of the cover for sanitary fittings according to the present invention mainly consist in that the solidity and life of the product are increased, the aesthetical aspect remains unvaried in time ad the cleaning and hygienic features of the device are greatly increased.

[0015] The cover for sanitary fittings according to the present invention will be described more in detail hereinbelow relating to the enclosed drawings in which an embodiment thereof is shown.

[0016] Figure 1 shows a longitudinal section of a cover for sanitary fittings for W.C. bowls, according to the present invention.

[0017] Figure 2 shows an enlarged detail of the quick hooking and unhooking device of the cover for sanitary fittings according to the present invention, shown in the circle of figure 1.

[0018] Figures 3, 4 and 5 respectively show a top view and a square and longitudinal section of the ring of the cover for sanitary fittings for W.C. bowls, according to the present invention.

[0019] Figures 6, 7, 8 and 9 respectively show a top, front, back and lateral view of the cover for sanitary fittings for W.C. bowls, according to the present invention.

[0020] Figure 10 shows a square section of the cover for sanitary fittings for W.C. bowls, according to the present invention.

[0021] Relating now to the details shown in the figures, the cover for sanitary fittings for W.C. bowls according to the present invention mainly comprises a cover 1 and a ring 2, realized out of sheet-inox steel.

[0022] In general, the cover for sanitary fittings comprises only a cover, like e.g. in urinals or W.C. bowls having an already shaped edge for sitting.

[0023] Conveniently, the inox steel used is of the kind AISI 304, with a technical acronym X5 CRNI 1810.

[0024] The edge 3 of said cover 1 is curved towards the inside so as to allow the user to lift said cover without touching the possible brink of the sheet-steel.

[0025] Furthermore, the edge 3 of said cover 1 is winding to said ring 2, so that - when said cover is closed, as shown in figure 10 - the ring is out of sight.

[0026] Furthermore, the cover for W.C. bowls comprises means 4 for the connection to said sanitary bowl.

[0027] Said connection means 4 comprise in turn a male-female joint, mainly realized by means of a pin 5 that gets inserted under pressure and in a removable manner into a bush 6. Said pin 5 is linked to the portion 7 of said means 4 that is fixed to said sanitary bowl, while said bushing is linked to a hinge 8 of said means 4, that is fixed to said cover for sanitary fittings.

[0028] The quick connection between said pin 5 and said bushing 6 occurs due to an elastic ring-shaped element 9 that gets inserted between the two correspondent annular grooves, placed on said elements 5 and 6.
