OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] As expressed in the title of this specification, the present invention consists of
an improved brassiere, which includes noteworthy, outstanding and advantageous characteristics
with respect to brassieres currently used for this purpose and which are of this type.
[0002] These brassieres used by women have two cups provided with side extensions from which
some straps for fastening around the wearer's back originate. Brassieres connect in
the center of the back by means of clasps or other hooking means.
[0003] This type of brassiere also includes other straps passing over the wearer's shoulders,
straps provided with tightening means in order to adjust the length thereof.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0004] Nowadays brassieres used by women have hooking means or clasps located in the ends
of the straps of symmetric lengths which originate from the side extensions of one
cup and the other.
[0005] This conventional arrangement requires the wearer to clasp or hook the ends of the
brassiere by bending her arms around to the center of her back, or else on occasions,
to hook the brassiere in the front and turning it around her body until it reaches
the correct position.
[0006] The attachment of the straps in the area corresponding to the back also has adjustment
means in order to gently adapt same to the wearer's body.
[0007] Another clasping alternative, known in itself, consists of providing for the brassiere
having direct hooking means between both cups, in the middle part thereof, thus being
located in the front part of the wearer's body.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0008] In broad outline, the improved brassiere that constitutes the object of the present
invention, eliminates the problems and disadvantages of the above-mentioned conventional
brassieres, upon providing for as a particularity the arrangement of a double side
clasp that makes it much easier to put same on. Hence, this permits left-handed women
as well as right-handed women to easily put the brassiere on.
[0009] The brassiere is comprised of two cups attached to each other and whose opposite
ends have the above-cited side extensions. Both extensions are provided with corresponding
connecting clasps of a strap that is thus independent and that may be interchanged
with the desired type of strap, in other words, with a transparent silicone strap
or an opaque band.
[0010] The independent strap naturally has on its ends respective complementary hooking
means of those that exist on the side extensions of the cups. The hooking of the garment
thus takes place at either side and specifically under the arm, which facilitates
maneuverability for all types of people, especially those for whom the traditional
hooking system proves to be cumbersome and involves a certain difficulty. With this
arrangement, depending on whether the wearer is right-handed or left-handed, the independent
strap will be connected by the end opposite the one that proves to be the most cumbersome
and hence the final hooking will be carried out on the easiest side.
[0011] It has also been provided for that only one of the cups extends in a single strap
that going around the wearer's back hooks to the clasp placed in the other end of
the brassiere.
[0012] In order to provide a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention
and forming an integral part of this specification, two sheets of drawings in whose
figures the following has been represented in an illustrative and non-restrictive
manner, are attached hereto.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0013]
Figure 1 is a perspective view of an improved brassiere, according to the invention,
the hooking strap being loose.
Figure 2 is another perspective view of the same brassiere as in figure 1, with the
strap connected to the rest of the brassiere.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of another improved brassiere with a strap connected
to one of the cups in an unattached position.
Figure 4 is a perspective view, from another angle, of the same brassiere as in figure
3, once the strap has been attached.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0014] Making reference to the numbering used in the figures and especially to figures 1
and 2, we see how the improved brassiere, that the invention proposes, has just like
other brassieres of its type, two cups (1) connected in the front part by a part (2)
and how in the opposite ends of the cups there are triangular-shaped side extensions
(3). The straps (4) are placed over the wearer's shoulders and they have tightening
means (5) in order to adjust them to the required length. These straps (4) connect
the rings (6) and (7) located respectively in the end top part of the side extensions
(3) and in a top point of the respective cup (2).
[0015] Now then, according to the present invention, the ends of the side extensions (3)
include respective clasps (8) to which the ends of the independent strap (9) provided
with complementary hooks (10) in its ends will be hooked.
[0016] This independent strap (9) has, just like the straps (4) that are placed over the
wearer's shoulders, tightening means (11).
[0017] The independent strap (9) may be of transparent plastic material so that same is
invisible and it may or may not coincide with the material used for the other straps
(4) of the garment. These straps (4) may also be interchangeable and may even have
easily releasable hooking means.
[0018] Now making special reference to figures 3 and 4, same show the embodiment of the
brassiere in which there is a strap (12) integral to one of the cups (1) and whose
free end has a component (10) of the clasp, connectable to the clasp (8) directly
attached to the triangular extension (3) of the other cup (1), thus also defining
the side clasps that makes it easy to put the garment on.
[0019] Just like that which has been commented on regarding the independent strap (9), the
strap (12) may be of transparent material or of different material.
1. Improved brassiere, of the type that has two cups connected by the front part and
that extend to the other side according to respective side extensions that will be
connected in turn by straps provided with clasps, going around the wearer's back and
also having some other straps placed over the wearer's shoulders, characterized in that the strap (9, 12) that goes around the wearer's back connects to the rest by means
of side clasps (8) attached to the free ends of the side extensions (3) of the cups
(1), there likewise being tightening means (11) to adjust the length of the straps,
enabling the garment to be hooked on the side.
2. Improved brassiere according to claim 1, characterized in that the strap (9) is independent and interchangeable because on its ends there are complementary
hooking means (10) of the clasps (8) integral to both side extensions.
3. Improved brassiere according to claim 1, characterized in that from one of the side triangular extensions (3), a strap (12) whose free end has the
complementary hooking means (10) of the clasp (8) integral to the opposite side triangular
extension (3), is established.
