(54) Vehicle door latch

(57) An operating handle support (270) is secured to a door latch housing (212, 214, 216). An operating handle (278) is pivotally attached to the handle support and a stud (286) on the operating handle engages an unlatching lever (243) pivotally mounted on the door latch housing. A bowden wire assembly (298) has a cable (300) with a latch end (304) anchored on the door latch housing. A cable conduit receives the cable and has a conduit latch end (316) in contact with a conduit abutment on the operating handle (278). Pulling cable from a door handle end of the cable conduit forces the conduit latch end to move toward the latch end of the cable, pivots the operating handle and unlatches the door latch.
