(54) Needle plate for execution of overedging seams


(57) A needle plate (5) for execution of overedging seams to be used in association with a device (1) has a main slot (21) and an auxiliary slot (22) formed at a primary side (17) of said needle plate and each designed to be passed through by a respective needle (3, 4) of the device (1). Also formed in the needle plate (5) at the primary side (17) thereof, is a main tab (23) and an auxiliary tab (24) which are such arranged that to each slot (21, 22) corresponds a tail portion (23b, 24b) of the respective tab (23, 24) by which the corresponding seam portion formed is discharged as the workpiece moves forward. The tabs (23, 24) have substantially aligned end edges (23a, 24a) along the primary side (17), whereas the slots (21, 22) are mutually offset transversely of the primary side (17).
