(54) High speed card edge connectors


(57) An electrical connector (200) comprising a frame (204), at least one first connector module (212) and at least one different second connector module (214). The frame (204) has at least one connector module receiving area (218) adapted to receive a plurality of connector modules (212, 214). The frame (204) comprises a first array of connector module locating features (226) and a different second array of connector module locating features (226). The first connector module (212) is located in the at least one receiving area (218, 220). The first connector module (212) has a housing (228) and electrical contacts (230). The first connector module (212) comprises a mating first array of positioning features interlocked with at least a portion of the first array of locating features (226) in the frame (204). The different second connector module (214) is located in the at least one receiving area (218, 220). The second connector module (214) has a housing (228) and electrical contacts (230). The second connector module (214) comprises a mating different second array of positionig features (240) interlocked with at least a portion of the second array of locating features (226) in the frame (204).
