[0001] The invention relates to a device in the form of a safe for storing valuable products
and/or goods to protect these against theft and possible fire, in which the use is
comparable with fixed, on site built chamber-shaped safes and/or large cabinets, which
are provided with a steel access door.
[0002] Known are the ordinary safes for storing valuable articles and goods, as the mentioned
articles and goods are a desired loot for burglars, who are becoming more and more
professional. The ordinary safes have a number of disadvantages for the user, such
as the ordinary known safe has certain standard dimensions, has a large weight and
cannot be installed at any suitable place. Further only articles with small dimensions
fit in the known safes. Also, radical alterations for the known safes result in high
costs and inconvenience.
[0003] The aim of the present invention is to provide a device in the form of detachable
burglar proof compartment, in which the aforementioned disadvantages are solved and
of which the use offers many more possibilities, especially with regard to size of
the articles and is highly burglar proof.
[0004] For this purpose a device in the form of a detachable burglar proof compartment is
developed in a very inventive way in which the mentioned safe or compartment is constructed
of detachable panels with width B, height H and panel thickness D for floor, walls
and top covering, in which the panels consist of a set plate with plate thickness
δ in which the mentioned panel plates are double turned at the edges in a surprisingly
specific way at the long as well as the short sides, in which at the one long side
a U-shape is obtained by bending and at the opposite long side a Z-shape is obtained,
in which the dimensions of the U-shape and the Z-shape are chosen such, that on the
outside a smooth wall is formed, in which during the setting of the plate the U-shaped
bending is used near the short sides, in which when mounting, after positioning the
adjacent panels to each other the U- and Z-shaped turned edges the panels are mountable
to each other by means of a bolt and nut construction positioned on distance α from
each other, in which the panel for the mentioned access door construction has a width
of two panels or 2B, in which the door construction is lockable all around with several
pins and police locks, in which the material of the mentioned panels is metal, in
which on the inside of the panels lining can be applied for several options.
[0005] The advantage is a safe with the size of a small chamber or compartment which can
be built-up quickly and at any suitable place, which hardly causes any inconvenience
when built and in which many valuable articles and goods can be stored quickly and
free from burglary.
[0006] Furthermore the device according to the invention is further developed in such a
way, that the mentioned width B lies between 300 en 800 mm, preferably approximately
500 mm, the mentioned height H lies between 1500 and 3000 mm, preferably approximately
2400 mm, the mentioned thickness δ of the plate material lies between 1 and 10 mm,
preferably approximately 3 mm, in which a total panel thickness D is created of approximately
40 to 50 mm by mentioned bended plate, and in which the mentioned bolts are preferably
M10 bolts with a positioning distance d of approximately 250 mm.
[0007] The advantages are that a very handy, healthy and safely mountable construction is
created, which can be built almost at any suitable place on basis of a standard module
size.
[0008] Furthermore, the device according to the invention is further developed in such a
way, that the number of pins is approximately 8 and the number of police locks or
security locks is approximately 4.
[0009] The advantage of this is, that a very well secured access door is obtained. In figure
6B safety standard 4.
[0010] The preferred construction of the invention will be described by way of example,
and with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which:
- Fig. 1
- shows an oblique perspective of a mounted detachable burglar proof compartment consisting
of panels for walls, covering and possible floor, according to a preferred embodiment
of the present invention;
- Fig. 2
- shows a horizontal cross-section over the mentioned burglar proof compartment over
the line II-II in figure 1;
- Fig. 3
- shows an oblique perspective of a wall panel according to a preferred embodiment of
the invention;
- Fig. 4
- shows a cross-section IV-IV over mentioned wall panel of figure 3;
- Fig. 5
- shows a cross-section over an angular wall panel over the line V-V in figure 1; and
- Fig. 6A up to 6C
- show cross-sections over the joints of the two adjacent wall panels, door panel to
wall panel and cover panel to wall panel.
[0011] Figure 1 shows an oblique perspective of a mounted detachable burglar-proof compartment
1, consisting of wall panels 2 with width B, the special angular panels 3, the access
door panel 4 with width 2B and the covering panels 5, in which eventual floor panels
are not visible. The height dimension H is also shown in figure 1.
[0012] Figure 2 shows a horizontal cross-section over the mounted detachable burglar-proof
compartment 1, taken over the line II-II in figure 1. Here, the numbers of the concerned
panels are indicated. Also, the mounted wedge bolts 6 for connection to the underlying
floor are indicated.
[0013] Figure 3 shows an oblique perspective of a wall panel 2 according to a preferred
embodiment of the invention. The bolt holes 7 for interconnection on distance α are
also indicated.
[0014] Figure 4 shows a cross-section IV-IV over the wall profile 2 of figure 3. Here, the
U-shaped turn 8 and the Z-shaped turn 9 are indicated. The panel thickness D of approximately
35 mm is also indicated, as well as the plate thickness δ.
[0015] Figure 5 shows a cross-section over angular wall panel 3 with the specific U- and
Z-shaped turned edges 8 and 9. The connection to the underlying floor by means of
wedge bolts 6 is also shown. De interconnection of bolt and nut 7 is also schematically
shown.
[0016] Figures 6A up to 6C show cross-sections over the connections 7 of the adjacent panels
2, a door panel 4 to a wall panel 2 and a covering panel 5 to a wall panel 2 with
the mentioned bolt/nut connections 7.
[0017] Figure 6B shows the connection of a door panel 4 to the wall panels 2 and 3. In order
to let the door post of the door panel 4 meet the safety standard 4, the door posts
8 and 9 should have the drawn cross-section and should be provided with extra posts
10 en 11.
[0018] The unit is fixed with bolts M10, the numerals 12, 13, 14, 15 have a heart to heart
distance of approximately 250mm, in which the plates 16, 17, 18, 19 are used as "nut"
or a bolt.
[0019] The police locks are indicated with 20. The actual access door 21 has the indicated
plate-shape in cross-section.
[0020] Finally it has to be emphasized, that the above description constitutes a number
of preferred embodiments of the present invention and that further variations and
modifications are possible without departing the scope of this patent description.
