(57) An apparatus (1, 1A, 1B) for winding and/or packaging fabric rolls (6) and the like,
comprises a double swinging belt (10) including a top belt (9) for feeding the fabric
(19) and a bottom belt (23) for feeding a packaging sheet element (18), or for alternatively
feeding a first packaging sheet element (18), by the bottom belt (23), and a second
packaging sheet element (37) by the top belt (9), and a swingable cut guiding arm
(13) for cutting the fabric (19) and sheet elements (18, 37). Thus, it is possible
to make a fabric roll (6) with a "winding recovery" function, by using only two operating
stations (2, 3), and package fabric rolls (6) of different heights by using two different
height sheet elements (18, 37), thereby eliminating possible sheet scraps and providing
a high productivity. The apparatus can operate as a packaging machine (1B) providing
a centralized packaging station (3) for different-height fabric rolls (6).
