(57) A device for protecting a window opening or doorway against insects. The device comprises: a frame, which can be secured to the top of a case. A plurality of slats of insect-repellent screen gauze can be secured to the frame by means of securing means. The securing means comprise at least a plurality of parallel slots extending in the longitudinal direction of the frame. The slats can be accommodated in the slots. Preferably, two slots are present.
