[0001] The present invention relates to a device for the hanging and support of roller blinds,
of the type according to the preamble to the main claim.
[0002] Within the above-mentioned technical field, there is a need to mount the roller device
in different positions selected in accordance with contingent mounting requirements.
[0003] The present invention falls within the technical context of this requirement and
proposes, as a main object, that of increased versatility such as to favour the mounting
of a roller blind in many different positions without the need for external adapters.
[0004] Another object of the invention is to provide a device for the hanging and support
of roller blinds which can confer a pleasant appearance on the blind-support assembly.
[0005] These objects and others are achieved by the invention by means of a device for the
hanging and support of roller blinds which is formed in accordance with the appended
claims.
[0006] The characteristics and the advantages of the invention will become clearer from
the detailed description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment thereof, described
by way of non-limiting example with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
Figures 1 and 1A are perspective views of a sun blind provided with a hanging and
support device according to the invention, and of a detail thereof, respectively,
Figures 2 to 4 are schematic, perspective views of the hanging device of Figure 1
in the various stages of assembly,
Figure 5 is an exploded, perspective view of the same hanging device in a different
operative position, and
Figures 6 to 9 are side elevational views of the sun blind of Figure 1 in various
mounting conditions.
[0007] In the drawings, a sun blind, generally indicated 1, formed in accordance with the
present invention, includes a roller device 2 to the opposite ends of which respective
supports 4 are fixed by means of screws 3. Each support 4 comprises a hanger 5 for
fixing to a wall (or to a soffit the term "wall" being extended to include this meaning)
and a bracket body 6 which can be fixed releasably on a corresponding hanger 5. Each
bracket body 6 in turn comprises a cheek 7 and a rear element 8. The cheeks 7 are
formed in right-hand and left-hand versions having reflectively corresponding configurations.
Since they are identical apart from the above-mentioned reflectively corresponding
configuration, only one of them will be described in detail.
[0008] Each cheek 7 is substantially in the shape of a triangle, preferably a right-angled
triangle with longer and shorter perpendicular sides 10 and 11 and a hypotenuse 12.
The angle between the shorter side 11 and the hypotenuse 12, as well as the hypotenuse
itself, are broadly rounded, so that the bracket body has a generally teardrop-like
shape.
[0009] The cheek 7 has a plurality of through-holes. A first series of holes, all indicated
13 and aligned along the longer side 10, serve for the fixing of the cheek to the
rear element 8 by means of screws 14. A further hole 15 serves for the insertion of
the screw 3 for fixing between the bracket body and the roller device 2. The screws
14 are housed in respective threaded seats 16 of the rear element 8 which open on
both sides thereof so that the cheek 7 can be fixed alternatively to one or to the
other of the opposed sides 8a, 8b, of the rear element 8.
[0010] The right-hand and left-hand bracket bodies thus use identical rear elements 8.
[0011] Each rear element 8 also comprises two opposed and parallel lips 20a, 20b which are
reflectively symmetrical with respect to a central axis that extends through the central
seat 16 of the rear element 8. The rear element 8 is thus completely reversible, that
is, it can be mounted on the hanger 5 in two positions at 180° to one another.
[0012] For housing each lip 20a, 20b, the hanger 5 has two corresponding pockets 22, 23.
The first pocket 22 is fixed, whereas the second pocket 23 is adjustable owing to
the provision of a plate 24 which can be fixed on the hanger in different positions
by virtue of the provision of two slotted holes 25 and respective fixing screws 26.
The facing surfaces of the plate 24 and of the hanger are preferably notched.
[0013] It is thus possible to "open" the adjustable pocket 23 by slackening the screws 26
and lowering the plate 24 away from the fixed pocket 22 to enable the lip 20a, 20b
to be inserted in the pocket 23, after the opposed lip 20b, 20a has been inserted
in the pocket 22.
[0014] One or more fixing grub screws 27, acting on one and/or on the other of the lips
20a, 20b, are provided for fixing the bracket body firmly to the hanger 5.
[0015] The device according to the invention permits four different mounting arrangements
of the roller blind in accordance with the schemes shown in Figures 6 to 9. The two
mounting arrangements of Figures 6 and 7 provide for the hangers to be fixed to a
wall and, according to the orientation selected for the bracket bodies, for the roller
device to be supported further up or further down, for example, to avoid obstacles
which may be present when the blind is fitted on a wall in the vicinity of a soffit,
projections or other discontinuities.
[0016] The two mounting arrangements of Figures 8 and 9 provide for the hangers to be fixed
to a soffit and, according to the orientation selected for the bracket bodies, for
the roller device to be supported in positions in which it is retracted to a greater
or lesser extent relative to the direction of rolling of the blind.
[0017] The invention thus achieves the objects proposed, favouring versatility in the mounting
of sun blinds and at the same time permitting the use of identical components for
the production of the right-hand and left-hand supports of the roller device, limiting
the differentiation to the two cheeks of the bracket bodies.
