(54) A method of packaging shoes or boots

(57) In the method described for packaging shoes or boots, the shoes or boots (1d, 1s) are packed singly and individually in half-pairs with respective individual packages (2d, 2s) for right shoes or boots (1d) and for left shoes or boots (1s).

Description

[0001] The subject of the present invention is a method of packaging shoes or boots devised particularly for the packaging and marketing of sports footwear and specifically football boots.

[0002] As is known, many individuals naturally have morphological and dimensional differences between their right and left foot. These differences may be accentuated in sports
practitioners, owing to the different physical exercise to which the two feet are subjected. This problem is experienced mostly amongst footballers at competitive level owing to the fact that the muscular and morphological mass of the footballer's "preferred" foot, which is used more often, is developed to a greater extent.

[0003] On the other hand, it is known that shoes and boots for sports use (like conventional footwear in general) are normally manufactured, packaged and marketed in pairs, each pair comprising a right shoe or boot (which can be fitted on the right foot) and a left shoe or boot (which can be fitted on the left foot). The purchaser of the boots is consequently forced to compromise by purchasing the pair of shoes or boots which fits the larger foot and adapting the other shoe or boot to the smaller foot by the insertion of insoles, padding, or other devices.

[0004] Even if this compromise situation is justifiable for conventional footwear, it is wholly unjustifiable or unacceptable for football boots since, in this sport, the foot wearing the boot represents the main piece of equipment for achieving the best sporting result.
Within this field, the main technical problem addressed by the present invention is that of providing a method of packaging shoes or boots which is devised to overcome all of the disadvantages discussed with reference to the prior art mentioned.

[0005] This problem is solved by the invention by a method of packaging shoes or boots in accordance with the appended claims.

[0006] The characteristics and the advantages of the invention will become clearer from the following detailed description of a preferred application thereof, described by way of non-limiting example with reference to the appended drawings, in which the sole figure shows two sports boots, that is, a right boot and a left boot, respectively, packaged individually in accordance with the method of the invention.

[0007] In the drawing, a right football boot of preselected size, for example, 42, is indicated 1d and a matching, but left football boot of preselected size, for example 41 and 1/2, is indicated 1s. This pair of boots perfectly fits the feet of a hypothetical footballer who is accustomed to kicking predominantly with his right foot so that this foot is more greatly developed than the left foot, or who has feet which are not of a morphologically identical shape for other reasons.

[0008] The two boots 1d and 1s are packaged separately and individually in respective boxes 2d and 2s so that they can be selected and purchased individually according to the specific morphological requirements of the footballer's right and left feet.

[0009] The invention thus solves the problem indicated, achieving many advantages over known methods of packaging footwear in pairs. In the first place, it is possible to use the best shoe or boot for each foot without the need for compromise.

[0010] Optimized performance of the two shoes or boots and of the footballer wearing them is thus achieved so that the footballer is in a position to give best expression to his footballing skills. The improved comfort of fit thus achieved also reduces foot fatigue both when running and during abrupt movements and improves the precision of the path imparted to the ball during kicking.

[0011] The foregoing description refers expressly to football boots, which represent the preferred field of application of the packaging method of the invention. The invention is also suitable for shoes or boots of other types and, in particular, for sports shoes or boots which are not provided with internal moulding means (such as the so-called self-moulding inner boots provided in some ski boots) for adapting them to the morphology of the user's foot.
