(54) A motor-operated press machine

(57) A motor-operated press machine has a support table (140) and a rocking link (126) which is attached at a middle portion to said support table (140) by a supporting shaft (124), and which is rockable about said supporting shaft (124). A crank (120) has a crank shaft (122) serving as a support shaft is rotatably supported on one end portion of the rocking link (126). A press ram (114) is linked to the crank (120) and is vertically reciprocated by rotating said crank (120). A driving unit (154) is coupled to another end portion of the rocking link (126) to rock the rocking link (126) about the supporting shaft (124) so as to vertically move said press ram (114). In a usual press working operation, the driving unit (154) regulates said rocking link (126) to a lateral position with respect to a position above said press ram (114) so that said supporting shaft (124) is on a first straight line (A) which laterally elongates from said crank shaft (122) with respect to a moving direction of said press ram (114). In a resetting operation after jamming or an emergency during a working operation, the driving unit (154) lowers said other end portion of the rocking link (126) to upward move the press ram (114) to a retracting position above a position where the press ram (114) is located in the usual press working operation.
