(54) Cover for helmets

(57) The invention relates to a cover (1) for helmet (2), particularly for jet kind helmet (2), characterised in that it is comprised of at least partially elasticised material, having a shape conformable to the shape of the jet kind helmet (2), and in that it is provided with means (3) for coupling with the same helmet (2).

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a cover for helmets.

[0002] More specifically, the invention concerns a cover of the above kind allowing obtaining an esthetical and functional covering of a jet kind helmet (i.e. of a frontally opened helmet).

[0003] As it is well known to everybody, and particularly to those using motorcycles for their free time and for their movements, costs of helmets are very high, particularly helmets with a very high safety level.

[0004] The outer shell of the helmet is subjected to deterioration, due to occasional impacts of the same helmet, or to involuntary wearing that can occur, for example, when the helmet is put aside with the motorcycle box.

[0005] Thus, it would be suitable and wished to be possible to change the helmet, the esthetical aspect of which is deteriorated, but one is restrained in doing so do to the high costs of the new helmet.

[0006] Furthermore, the choice of the colour of the helmet often implies many doubts by the buyer, and in many cases it would be wished to change the colour after few weeks.

[0007] In this case too, the user of the helmet is restrained mainly by the costs of the article.

[0008] In view of the above, the applicant has realised a cover for a jet kind helmet, that can be easily replaced.

[0009] Main object of the present invention is that of providing a cover allowing obtaining both a protection for the helmet and an esthetical element for the same helmet.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is that of providing a cover that can be realised by employing very economical materials.

[0011] Still another object of the present invention is that of providing a cover that can be customised.

[0012] Further object of the present invention is that of providing a cover conformable to every type of jet kind helmet.

[0013] It is therefore specific object of the present invention a cover for helmet, particularly for jet kind helmet, characterised in that it is comprised of at least partially elasticised material, having a shape conformable to the shape of the jet kind helmet, and in that it is provided with means for coupling with the same helmet.

[0014] Preferably, according to the invention, said cover is comprised of waterproof material.

[0015] Still according to the invention, said coupling means can be comprised of a plurality of tabs, made up of Velcro® or like, coupling with the padding of the same helmet.

[0016] The present invention will be now described, for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein:

figure 1 is a perspective view of a jet kind helmet;

figure 2 is a perspective view of a cover according to the invention; and

figure 3 shows a jet kind helmet with the cover provided on the same.

[0017] Making reference to figures 1 - 3 of the enclosed drawings, it is shown a preferred embodiment of a cover 1 according to the invention for a jet kind helmet 2.

[0018] Said cover 1 is so shaped to be conformable to the outer shape of any kind of jet kind helmet 2.

[0019] To be able to fix the cover 1 according to the invention to the helmet 2, in the embodiment shown, a plurality of tabs 3, made up of Velcro® or like, is provided, said tabs coupling with the inner padding of the helmet 2.

[0020] In this way, as it can be noted from figure 3, fixing of the cover 1 on the helmet 2 cannot be seen from outside the helmet 2.

[0021] As already said, obviously, fixing system can be different with respect to the one shown in the figures.

[0022] Cover 1 is comprised of elasticised material, to improve its comformability features for all the helmets, but can also be comprised of cheaper material. In this way, replacement of the cover can occur without any major problem, whenever it is wished.

[0023] Cover 1 according to the invention can be of every colour, or colours, or with every kind of drawing, such as colours and logo of the preferred team, etc.

[0024] The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.
