(54) A starter pack


(57) A portable engine starter pack comprises a housing 1, a battery 70, 71 located in the housing 1 and a socket 20 connected to the battery. The pack has at least two different voltage settings and a switch 54 is used to switch between the supply voltages. The switch 54 has an operating handle 25, 83 which requires different movements to set configurations for the different voltages. A charging plug 62 is used to charge the batteries 70, 71. If an operator tries to operate the handle 25, 83 during the charging process fuses 52, 55 are tripped electrically, protecting the charging circuitry and the charging system.
