(57) An apparatus for supplying electric power from a portable computer (1) to an extended station (docking unit) (2), the portable computer having an electric power source (7,8), and being detachably mountable to the extended station. The apparatus includes means (11) for detecting whether or not the portable computer (1) is connected to the extended station (2) and power supplying means (3) for supplying electric power from the electric power source. (7,8) of the portable computer (1) to the extended station (2) when the detecting means (11) detect that the portable computer is connected with the extended station.
