[0001] This invention relates to a household textile environmental protection bag, and more
particularly to a bag which includes a cover that is mounted removably on a side surface
of a closable bag body and which can be applied to beds, quilts, pillows, sofas, sleeping
bags, etc.
[0002] In a household textile product, such as a pillow, quilt, mattress, seat cushion and
sleeping bag, there is provided a closable bag body that is filled with a soft material,
a warmth keeping material (such as cotton, feather, down and chemical fiber) or a
resilient supporting member (such as a sponge material and a plurality of coiled compression
springs). Because the bag body is made of textile, it is easily stained due to frequent
contact with a human body. Accordingly, it is usually necessary to wash the bag body.
However, in case the bag body has a relatively large volume, it is difficult to wash
the same . Normally, the bag body is disposed of when it is stained to a certain extent,
thereby resulting in a serious environmental pollution problem. A pillow is normally
enclosed with a pillowcase in order to solve this problem. Likewise, a quilt is normally
enclosed with a quilt cover. However, because no positioning means are provided between
the bag body and the pillowcase or the quilt cover, it is time-consuming to mount
the bag body accurately within the pillowcase or the quilt cover.
[0003] An object of this invention is to provide a household textile environmental protection
bag with textile articles that are mounted easily and removably on a textile bag body
and that can be easily removed from the same for washing purposes.
[0004] According to this invention, a household textile environmental protection bag includes
a textile bag body with two surfaces, a fixed fastening piece fixed on one of the
surfaces, and an article unit with a fastening piece that is connected removably to
one of the fixed fastening piece and the movable fastening piece. When the article
unit is removed from the bag body, the movable fastening piece can be connected removably
to the fixed fastening piece, thereby preventing the fixed fastening piece and the
movable fastening piece from contact with a human body. The fastening pieces may be
hook fasteners, loop fasteners, or zipper halves . The article unit may be a cover,
a skirt unit of a bedspread, a dust ruffle, and a furniture shell, such as a back
of a sofa and a headboard of a bed.
[0005] These and other features and advantages of this invention will become apparent in

[0006] Before this invention is described in greater detail in connection with the preferred
embodiments, it should be noted that similar elements are designated by like reference
numbers throughout the entire disclosure.
[0007] Referring to Figs. 1, 2, 3 and 4, a first preferred embodiment of a household textile
environmental protection bag according to this invention is applied to a duvet, and
is shown to include a rectangular textile bag body 10, a sheet of first primary textile
cover (C1) (see Fig. 4), and a sheet of second primary textile cover (C2). The bag
body 10 has a first side surface 11 and a second side surface 12, and is filled with
feathers and down 13. A fixed fastening piece (F1) is fixed on the outer periphery
of the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10. The first primary textile cover (C1)
is provided with an elongated annular fastening piece (F2) that is connected removably
to the fixed fastening piece (F1) of the bag body 10, thereby fixing the first primary
textile cover (C1) (see Fig. 4) to the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10. An
elongated annular textile strip unit 14 has an outer periphery that is fastened to
the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10, and an inner
periphery that is provided with an elongated annular movable fastening piece (F3).
As best shown in Figs. 2 and 4, the inner periphery of the strip unit 14 can be turned
to abut against the outer periphery of the second side surface 12 of the bag body
10 so as to engage the movable fastening piece (F3) with an elongated annular fastening
piece (F4), which is fastened to the outer periphery of the second primary textile
cover (C2), thereby fixing the second primary textile cover (C2) to the second side
surface 12 of the bag body 10. When the first and second primary textile covers (C1,
C2) are removed from the bag body 10, the movable fastening piece (F3) can be turned
back to the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10 so as to engage the fixed fastening
piece (F1), as shown in Fig. 3, such that the fixed fastening piece (F1) and the movable
fastening piece (F3) are concealed between the first side surface 11 of the bag body
10 and the strip unit 14, thereby preventing uncomfortable direct contact of a human
body with the fixed and movable fastening pieces (F1, F3).
[0008] During use, the first and second primary textile covers (C1, C2) can prevent the
bag body 10 from direct contact with a human body. When the first and second primary
textile covers (C1, C2) are stained, they can be removed easily from the bag body
10 for washing purposes. In addition, when it is desired to change the patterns on
the outer surfaces of the first and second primary textile covers (C1, C2), it is
only necessary to replace the first and second primary textile covers (C1, C2).
[0009] The fixed fastening piece (F1) of the bag body (10) and the fastening piece (F4)
of the second primary textile cover (C2) are constructed as hook fasteners, while
the movable fastening piece (F3) of the bag body 10 and the fastening piece (F2) of
the first primary textile cover (C1) are constructed as loop fasteners. The hook and
loop fasteners can be replaced with zipper halves, as shown in Fig. 5.
[0010] Fig. 6 shows another modification of the first preferred embodiment, in which a secondary
fastening piece (F5), an elongated annular lace member 15 and a piece of secondary
textile cover (C3) are provided for ornamental purposes. The secondary fastening piece
(F5) is fixed on the outer periphery of the second side surface 12 of the bag body
10. The secondary textile cover (C3) is provided with a fastening piece (F6) that
is fastened to the outer periphery thereof and that is connected removably to the
secondary fastening piece (F5) of the bag body 10, thereby fixing the secondary textile
cover (C3) to the second side 12 of the bag body 10. The lace member 15 is fastened
to the outer periphery of the second side surface 12 of the bag body 10 so as to cover
the outer periphery of the secondary textile cover (C3) . When the secondary textile
cover (C3) is removed from the bag body 10, the lace member 15 can cover the secondary
fastening piece (F5).
[0011] Fig. 7 shows a second preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied to
a first thick quilt and which is similar to the duvet shown in Fig. 6 in construction
except that the thick quilt further includes a first primary textile cover (C1) and
that the fastening pieces (F1, F2, F3) are constructed as zipper halves.
[0012] Figs. 8 and 9 show a third preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied
to a sleeping bag and which includes a closable bag body 10, a first primary textile
cover (C1) and a second primary textile cover (C2). The bag body 10 has a first side
surface 11 and a second side surface 12, and is filled with a warmth keeping material.
A fixed fastening piece (F1) is fixed on the outer periphery of the first side surface
11 of the bag body 10 so as to engage an elongated annular fastening piece (F2) that
is fastened to the outer periphery of the first primary textile cover (C1), thereby
fixing the first primary textile cover (C1) to the first side surface 11 of the bag
body 10. An elongated annular textile strip unit 14 has an outer periphery that is
fastened to the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10, and
an inner periphery that is provided with an elongated annular movable fastening piece
(F3). The movable fastening piece (F3) is connected removably to an elongated annular
fastening piece (F4) that is fastened to the outer periphery of the second primary
textile cover (C2), thereby fixing the second primary textile cover (C2) to the second
side surface 12 of the bag body 10. The second primary textile cover (C2) has two
half portions (C21, C22) (divided by a phantom line) , each of which is provided with
an L-shaped zipper half (F51, F52) along the outer periphery thereof . The bag body
10 and the first and second primary textile covers (C1, C2) are folded so that the
zipper halves (F51, F52) can engage each other, thereby defining an opening 16 between
the half portions (C21, C22) of the second primary textile cover (C2). When the first
and second primary textile covers (C1, C2) are removed from the bag body 10, the strip
unit 14 can be turned to permit connection between the removable fastening piece (F3)
and the fixed fastening piece (F1). The fastening pieces (F1, F2, F3, F4) are constructed
as zipper halves.
[0013] Figs. 10 and 11 show a fourth preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied
to a bedspread and which includes a horizontal, rectangular bag body 10 that is placed
on a mattress 20, a horizontal first primary textile cover (C1) that is superposed
on the bag body 10, and a textile skirt unit (C2). Although the skirt unit (C2) is
unitary in this embodiment, it may consist of three separate pieces that are attached
respectively to three sides of the bag body 10. The bag body 10 has a first side surface
or top surface 11, and is filled with feathers and/or down 13. An elongated annular
fixed fastening piece (F1) is fixed on the outer periphery of the bag body 10 so as
to engage an elongated annular fastening piece (F2), which is fastened to the outer
periphery of the first primary textile cover (C1), thereby fixing the first primary
textile cover (C1) to the bag body 10. An elongated textile strip unit 14 is fastened
to the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10, and is provided
with an elongated annular movable fastening piece (F3) , which is connected removably
to an elongated fastening piece (F4) that is fastened to an upper end of the skirt
unit (C2), thereby fastening the skirt unit (C2) to the bag body 10. As such, the
skirt unit (C2) is suspended from the outer periphery of the bag body 10. In this
embodiment, the strip unit 14 consists of four spaced-apart strip sections. As such,
the movable fastening piece (F3) also consists of four separate members that are disposed
respectively on the strip sections. The fixed fastening piece (F1) of the bag body
10 and the fastening piece (F4) of the skirt unit (C2) are constructed as hook fasteners,
while the movable fastening piece (F3) of the bag body 10 and the fastening piece
(F2) of the first primary textile cover (C1) are constructed as loop fasteners.
[0014] Fig. 12 shows a fifth preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied to
a second thick quilt and which includes a closable bag body 10, a first primary textile
cover (C1) and a second primary textile cover (C2). The bag body 10 has a first side
surface 11, a second side surface 12 and an annular surface 17 that is located between
the first and second side surfaces 11, 12. A U-shaped, fixed fastening piece (F1)
is fixed on the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10 so
as to engage an elongated fastening piece (F2) that is fastened to the outer periphery
of the first primary textile cover (C1). As such, the first primary textile cover
(C1) overlies the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10. The fastening pieces (F1,
F2) cooperatively constitute a zipper. A U-shaped textile strip unit 14 has an outer
periphery that is fastened to the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of
the bag body 10, and an inner periphery that is provided with a U-shaped movable fastening
piece (F3). The movable fastening piece (F3) is connected removably to an elongated
fastening piece (F4) that is fastened to the outer periphery of the second primary
textile cover (C2). The fastening pieces (F3, F4) cooperatively constitute a zipper.
Because the area of the first primary textile cover (C1) is smaller than that of the
first side surface 11 of the bag body 10, a portion of the first side surface 11 is
not covered by the first primary textile cover (C1). The second primary textile cover
(C2) covers entirely the second side surface 12 of the bag body 10, and has an extension
(C21) that is turned to abut against the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10.
Each of the first and second textile covers (C1, C2) is connected removably to the
bag body 10 along three sides 101, 102, 103 of the bag body 10 and to each other at
the remaining side 104 of the bag body 10 by engaging a row of eyelets (C11) of the
first primary textile cover (C1) with a row of buttons (C22) of the second primary
textile cover (C2). During use, a human body contacts only the second primary textile
cover (C2). Accordingly, it is only necessary to wash the second primary textile cover
(C2). When the first and second textile covers (C1, C2) are removed from the bag body
10, the strip unit 14 can be turned to permit connection between the movable fastening
piece (F3) and the fixed fastening piece (F1).
[0015] Figs. 13, 14 and 15 show a sixth preferred embodiment of this invention, which is
applied to a third thick quilt and which includes a closable bag body 10, a secondary
textile cover (C3) and a primary textile cover (C2) . The bag body 10 has a first
side surface 11, a second side surface 12, and an annular surface 17 located between
the first and second side surfaces 11, 12, and is filled with wool and/or feathers
and/or down 13. An annular fixed fastening piece (F1) is fixed on the annular surface
17 of the bag body 10. An elongated annular textile strip unit 14 has a first side
141 that is fastened to the annular surface 17 of the bag body 10, and a second side
(142) that is provided with an elongated annular movable fastening piece (F3) that
is connected removably to an elongated fastening piece (F4) of the second primary
textile cover (C2), thereby fixing the second primary textile cover (C2) to the second
side surface 12 of the bag body 10 for protective purposes. The strip unit 14 consists
of four spaced-apart strip sections. As such, the movable fastening piece (F3) also
consists of four separate members that are disposed respectively on the strip sections.
When the primary textile cover (C2) is removed from the bag body 10, the strip unit
14 can be turned to permit connection between the movable fastening piece (F3) and
the fixed fastening piece (F1), thereby preventing a human body from uncomfortable
contact with the movable fastening piece (F3) . A secondary fastening piece (F5) is
fixed on the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10 so as
to engage an elongated fastening piece (F6), which is fastened to the outer periphery
of the secondary textile cover (C3), thereby fixing the secondary textile cover (C3)
to the first side surface 11 of the bag body 10 for ornamental or protective purposes.
A lace member 15 is fastened to the outer periphery of the first side surface 11 of
the bag body 10 so as to cover the outer periphery of the secondary textile cover
(C3). The movable fastening piece (F3) and the secondary fastening piece (F5) of the
bag body 10 are constructed as hook fasteners, while the fixed fastening pieces (F1)
of the bag body 10, and the fastening pieces (F6, F4) of the secondary textile cover
(C3) and the primary textile cover (C2) are constructed as loop fasteners. The hook
and loop fasteners may be replaced with zippers for performing the same function.
[0016] Fig. 16 shows a seventh preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied
to a modular quilt and which includes a plurality of modules. Each of the modules
includes a bag body 10 and a secondary textile cover (C3) that are similar to those
of the sixth preferred embodiment in construction except for the structures of the
fixing fastening pieces (F1) and the movable fastening pieces (F3) . Each of the annular
strip units 14 consists of four spaced-apart strip sections. Each of the movable fastening
pieces (F3) consists of four separate members. In this embodiment, each adjacent pair
of the bag bodies 10 are interconnected by engaging the fixed fastening pieces (F1).
The inter-engaging portions of the fixed fastening pieces (F1) of each adjacent pair
of the bag bodies 10 are configured respectively as a hook fastener and a loop fastener.
Because each of the bag bodies 10 has a relatively compact volume, it can be washed
easily in a washing machine. By adjusting the number of interconnected bag bodies
10, a modular quilt can have appropriate width and length to cover one, two or three
people. A plurality of the strip sections of the annular strip unit 14 can be turned
to permit connection between the separate members of the movable fastening pieces
(F3) and inter-engaged portions of the fixed fastening pieces (F1) for tidiness purposes.
[0017] Fig. 17 shows an eighth preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied
to a mattress and three dust ruffle members and which includes a closable bag body
10, a first primary textile cover (C1) that is superposed on the bag body 10, three
second primary textile covers (C2) that are constructed as dust ruffle members, and
a secondary textile cover (C3). The bag body 10 has a first side surface 11 and an
annular surface 17, and is filled with a supporting material (such as feather and
down, wool, chemical substance) and/or a plurality of coiled compression springs.
A fixed fastening piece (F1) is fixed on the annular surface 17 of the bag body 10
so as to engage an elongated annular fastening piece (F2) that is fastened to the
outer periphery of the first primary textile cover (C1), thereby fixing the first
primary textile cover (C1) to the bag body 10. The fastening pieces (F1, F2) cooperatively
constitute a zipper unit. An elongated annular textile strip unit 14 is provided on
the bag body 10 under the fixed fastening piece (F1), and is provided with an elongated
annular movable fastening piece (F3) . Each of the second primary textile covers (C2)
has an upper end, which is provided with an elongated fastening piece (F4) that is
connected removably to the movable fastening piece (F3), thereby fixing the second
primary textile covers (C2) to the bag body 10. As such, the second primary textile
covers (C2) are suspended from the outer periphery of the bag body 10. The fastening
pieces (F3, F4) also constitute a zipper unit. A lace member 15 is disposed on the
bag body 10 in the manner illustrated in Fig. 14.
[0018] Fig. 18 shows a ninth preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied to
a sofa and which includes a closable bag body 10, a secondary textile cover (C3),
and a furniture shell, such as a back 31 of a sofa 30 that is formed with a recess
32. The recess 32 is defined by a surrounding wall or first primary textile cover
(C1) and a bottom wall or second primary textile cover (C2). The bag body 10 is filled
with a soft material so as to serve as a back cushion, and has a first side surface
11, a second side surface 12 and an annular surface 17 that is located between the
first and second side surfaces 11, 12. An fixed fastening piece (F1) is fixed on the
annular surface 17 of the bag body 10 so as to engage an elongated annular fastening
piece (F2) that is fastened to the surrounding wall (C1) of the back 31. A movable
fastening piece (F3) is fastened to an annular textile strip unit 14, which is fastened
to the annular surface 17 of the bag body 10 and which is turned to abut against the
second side surface 12 of the bag body 10 so that the movable fastening piece (F3)
is connected removably to a fastening piece (F4) that is fastened to the bottom wall
(C2) of the back 31, thereby fixing the bag body 10 within the recess 32 in the back
31 of the sofa 30. The fastening pieces (F1, F2, F3, F4) are constructed as hook-and-loop
fasteners. A lace member 15 is also disposed on the bag body 10 in the manner illustrated
in Fig. 14. Because the bottom wall (C2) is generally perpendicular to the surrounding
wall (C1), the bag body 10 can be prevented from undesired removal from the back 31.
When the bag body 10 is removed from the sofa 30, the strip unit 14 can be turned
to permit connection between the movable fastening piece (F3) and the fixed fastening
piece (F1).
[0019] Fig. 19 shows a tenth preferred embodiment of this invention, which is applied to
a headboard cushion and which includes a closable bag body 10, a secondary textile
cover (C3) and a furniture shell, such as a headboard 41 of a bed 40 that has a recess
42. This embodiment is similar to the embodiment of Fig. 18 in construction.
