(57) A battery-operated device is disclosed and comprises a battery compartment (30) to receive a set of batteries and electrically connect them to the device and, a removable battery container (50) or pack (38) locatable within the battery compartment (30) in place of a set of batteries. The battery container (50) or pack (38) is configured to receive a differently sized set of batteries and, when the container (50) or pack (38) is located in the battery compartment (30), electrically connect them to the device.
