(54) Disposable Garment

(57) This invention pertains to a three-dimensional disposable garment (25) and subassemblies (10) of the garment (25). The garment (25) is designed to hold a primary absorbent sanitary pad. The garment (25) may have elasticized leg and waist openings (38, 44, 46,) and be stretchable about the hip and stomach regions of a user. The garment (25) provides backup protection to control egress of fluids that leak or seep around or through the primary sanitary pad. The garment (25) includes a secondary absorbent positioned in the crotch area (24) and extending into the body of the disposable garment (25), front and back, and preferably over the leg elastics (46, 48) to trap, inside the garment, leakage from the primary absorbent, and to prevent strike through onto e.g. outer clothing and bed linen. The garment blank subassembly and the disposable garment comprise four elastics and are characterized by the third and fourth elastics extending along respective first and second straight-line paths between the first and second elastics, the first sections of the first and second elastics, in combination with the third elastic, cooperating to surround a first leg of a wearer, the third sections of the first and second elastics, in combination with the fourth elastic, cooperating to surround a second leg of the wearer.
