(57) A currency handling apparatus for dispensing currency units from a plurality of stores, each for storing units of currency of a respective denomination, comprises means for predicting the future distribution of currency units to be dispensed and means for outputting a signal representing instructions for changes to the stores in accordance with the predicted future distribution.
