[0001] The present invention relates to a device for adjusting the positioning of yarn drafting
rollers, applicable to spinning machines, which achieves considerable improvements
with respect to devices currently known in the art.
[0002] Devices for guiding elastic yarns or filaments in spinning machines are known in
this field of the art, for example the device corresponding to Spanish Utility Model
9201019 of the present Applicant, intended to guide a elastic yarn up to the pair
of delivery cylinders of a spinning machine and comprising rocker arms for carrying
the upper rollers of the draw-frames, which is characterised by arrangement at the
end of the rocker arm of a head for carrying the guide rollers for the elastic yarns,
which is capable of displacement along its vertical axis, in a pendulum-like manner,
carrying in a floating manner the axle for carrying the guide rollers for the elastic
yarns. Said rollers are provided with resilient O-rings coupled at their peripheries
to establish direct contact with the lower rollers of the pairs of corresponding drafting
rollers.
[0003] The present invention relates to a device which has the same object as that mentioned
in said Spanish Utility Model, but comprises substantial improvements with respect
thereto. Said improvements relate to the method of achieving the adjustment in the
positioning of the yarn drafting rollers.
[0004] In this type of device it has been found to be important to vary the point of contact
of the yarn with the roller, to compensate for wear along its length and achieve a
longer useful life.
[0005] The object of the present invention is, in particular, to achieve the means for obtaining
a possibility of grading which is much more extensive and efficient than in the currently
known devices.
[0006] To achieve these objects, the present invention provides a support arm for the pair
of yarn guide rollers which comprises a large central aperture for lateral displacement
of the axle support for carrying the rollers, the axle support being fixed in position
by means of the combination of a grooved face produced in a part joined to the rocker
arm and a further mating grooved part arranged so as to oppose it, which is the carrier
for a support rod for the axle equipped with the rollers. In this manner it is possible
to adjust the position of the rollers with respect to the rocker arm to loosen the
roller carrying part for moving said part in one or more grooves until it again corresponds
to the lower grooving by varying the lateral position of the rollers in the desired
manner. The grooved part carrying the roller assembly is fixed by a quick-action system,
for example an eccentric device, such that the adjustment possibilities are extensively
increased and the resulting adjustment operation is very simple and quick.
[0007] The upper carrier part for the roller assembly and the lower part associated with
the rocker arm can carry reference markings which facilitate the adjustment task and
possible reproduction thereof.
[0008] For the purpose of better understanding, there follow, by way of an exemplary but
non-limiting example, some drawings of a device for adjusting the positioning of the
yarn drafting rollers in accordance with the present invention.

[0014] As can be seen in the figures, the device according to the present invention is coupled
to the rocker arm 1 carrying the rollers 2 and 3 for guiding the yarns in their respective
grooves 4 and 5, and has a part 6 coupled to the end of said arm 1, for example by
threading the end of said arm in grooves of the aforementioned part and transverse
fixing nuts and bolts 7 or another similar mechanism, said part 6 having a large orifice
8, Fig. 3, traversed by the roller carrying axle 9, and also having an upper transverse
opening 10, in the form of a slot, along which the rod 11 associated with a part 12
carrying the roller axle 9 can be displaced.
[0015] The part 12 is secured to the rod 11 which goes through an upper part 13 capable
of displacement along the groove 10 to achieve the desired adjustment positions for
the rollers 2 and 3. To achieve said adjustment the parts 6 and 13 each have mating
groovings at their opposing faces, as represented in Figs. 4 to 8 where it can be
seen that the part 6 has grooving 14 in its upper face into which meshes a grooving
15 of the lower face of the part 13. The transverse position of the rollers is changed
with respect to the arm 1 by varying the coupling grooves between said parts.
[0016] The part 13 is fixed in its operating position by means of any device known in the
art, for example an eccentric device 15, on which there acts a spring 16 supported
at the bottom by means of an adjustable plug 17.
[0017] By means of the arrangement of the elements described, it can be seen that the device
according to the present invention comprises some characteristics of notable simplicity
and functional efficiency. In effect, it is sufficient to loosen the eccentric device
15 to allow the part 13 to be displaced to the desired position, possibly with the
aid of the adjustment marks 18 of the part 13 and possibly of the part 6, then to
go back and tighten the eccentric 15 so that the new adjustment position is properly
fixed.
[0018] To permit guidance of the upper part 13 in the direction of the axis of the arm 1,
said upper part has a collar 18 at the bottom, which is adjusted in a sliding manner
in the interior of the groove 10, allowing its transverse displacement with respect
to the arm 1 but not allowing axial displacement thereof.
1. Device for adjusting the positioning of yarn drafting rollers, of the type comprising
a rocker arm for carrying the yarn guide rollers and a device for transversely adjusting
the position of the rollers with respect to said rocker arm, characterised in that the roller carrying part and the rocker arm are coupled by means of respective mating
grooved zones, which can be mutually coupled, with the possibility of transverse adjustment
of said coupling by varying the meshing grooves of the roller carrying part with respect
to the rocker arm, there also being a device for fixing the adjustment position to
lock the roller carrying part with respect to the rocker arm.
2. Device for adjusting the positioning of yarn drafting rollers according to claim 1,
characterised in that the grooving of the rocker arm is produced in a detachable part fixed at the end
of said arm, which is provided with a transverse groove traversed by a suspension
rod for a part carrying the axle for rotation of the rollers.
3. Device for adjusting the positioning of yam drafting rollers according to the preceding
claims, characterised in that the rod carrying the suspension part of the roller axle traverses an upper part provided
in its lower face with the grooving which mates with the rocker arm grooving, allowing
transverse adjustment by varying the corresponding grooves of the two groovings.
4. Device for adjusting the positioning of yarn drafting rollers according to the preceding
claims, characterised in that the upper part for carrying the suspension rod for the roller axle is provided with
a collar inserted with the capacity to slide into the transverse groove of the part
associated with the end of the rocker arm, allowing its transverse adjustment displacement
and simultaneously fixing the axial position with respect to the rocker arm.
5. Device for adjusting the positioning of yarn drafting rollers according to the preceding
claims, characterised in that the upper part for carrying the roller axle is fixed by means of an eccentric device
with tension spring associated with the part fixed to the end of the rocker arm.
6. Device for adjusting the positioning of yarn drafting rollers according to the preceding
claims, characterised by the arrangement of reference marks in the upper part for carrying the roller axle
to assist in the fixing of the rollers in the transverse position with respect to
the rocker arm.
