OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The invention propounded herein consists of a tower for packaging machines, of among
the auxiliary means for wrapping loads, palletized or not, in film.
[0002] This invention is characterized in a special construction of the tubular tower and
in different geometry and materials, which replaces the conventional internal reinforcements
for a finish in a very broad circular sector of its vertical edges.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The towers of conventional semiautomatic wrapping machines are built in a smooth
quadrangular tubular form, except for one of the faces which bears some side rails,
for the vertical sliding of the conventional reduction gear motor, which serves to
adjust the height of the carriage, depending on the requirements of each wrapping
operation.
[0004] These towers, which can even incorporate the electric operations cabinet, are all
built with some internal reinforcements which assure their long term operation and
avoid the collapse thereof due to the torque generated by the displaced load which
they support.
[0005] The applicant is unaware of the existence of towers having the characteristics of
that which is presented hereunder.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The invention object of the present specification relates to a tower for wrapping
machines, of among all those auxiliary means of support and guidance of the reduction
gear motor for positioning the carriage for the adequate packaging with stretchable
film of diverse loads, be they palletized or simply in an orderly group.
[0007] This invention is characterized in a special construction of the tower, always tubular,
completely hollow and in different geometries, so that its horizontal cross-section
can be either a straight or curved polygon or a combination of both.
[0008] This new tower replaces the conventional internal reinforcements with an equivalent
constructive finish of its vertical edges in a very broad circular sector, with the
same ends of reinforcing this bearing structure, so that these prominent edges, appropriately
adapted as an upper continuation of the base of the machine, determine some broadly
cylindrical figures which, as well, facilitate the reduction of the weight of the
column.
[0009] The materials also determine the constructional finishes, whereby if the column is
metallic of steel, the edges can be constituted in tubular profiles, of circular cross-section,
complete or ripped in a small arch and, then, they are joined by welding to the plates
which enclose the tower.
[0010] In the case of aluminum towers, screwing and riveting is preferable, whilst in the
case of plastic materials it is quicker and cheaper to glue the pieces.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0011] [00011] The present descriptive specification is completed with a set of drawings, which
illustrate in a non-restrictive manner the preferred embodiment of the invention in
a non-restrictive example.
[0012] [00012] Figure 1 shows the platform of a wrapping machine, with the base of a rectangular
tower which the tower of the invention incorporates.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0013] [00013] In the light of the foregoing, the present invention relates to a tower for packaging
machines, of reduced weight and of among the towers for support and guidance of the
reduction gear motor for positioning the wrapping carriage, characterized by its tubular
construction completely hollow and in different geometries, of horizontal polygonal
cross-section, with straight or curved sides or a combination of both, with vertical
edges (1) in a very broad circular sector, for reinforcement of this bearing structure,
prominent and in appropriate upward continuation of the back end of the base (2) of
the machine, determining some cylindrical projections. Between the cylindrical edges
(1) is the rail (3) of the reduction gear motor (4).
[0014] [00014] The essential nature of this invention is not altered by variations in materials,
form, size and arrangement of the component elements, described in a non-restrictive
way, this being sufficient for an expert to proceed to its reproduction.
1. Tower for packaging machines, of reduced weight, of among the towers for support and
guidance of the reduction gear motor for positioning the wrapping carriage, characterized by its tubular construction completely hollow and in different geometries, of horizontal
polygonal cross-section with straight or curved sides or both in combination, with
vertical edges (1) for reinforcement of this bearing structure, these edges (1) being
prominent and in appropriate upward continuation of the back end of the base (2) of
the machine, determining some cylindrical figures, as well as having between two of
these broadly cylindrical edges (1) the rail (3) of the reduction gear motor (4).
