(57) A method for manufacturing claddings for steps, particularly of the ceramic or stone type, comprising the steps of: contouring an edge (6) of a plate-like element (3), which is provided with an exposed surface (4), which constitutes the treading surface of the step; cutting a strip (7) from a second plate-like element; profiling the exposed surface (8) of the resulting strip; and assembling the plate-like element (3) and the strip (7).
