[0001] The present invention relates to the sanitary technical field, particularly it refers
to a support device for a sink, washbasin, bathtub and the like for sustaining these
last and toilet elements such as towels, bathrobes and similar.
[0002] There are known bracket devices which can be fixed to a wall from which they stick
out for sustaining a sink or a shelf for a sink.
[0003] There are also known towel stand devices, upright or fixed to wall, fit to be placed
side by side the sink to allow the user to utilize towels sustained thereby.
[0004] The main drawback of the known devices consists in that, taken as a body, are excessively
bulky and often little practical since the distance between them, and therefore between
sink and towels, is excessive.
[0005] Other drawback of the known bracket supporting devices for sinks, consists in that
they requires a cover or a furniture below the sink for hiding or separating said
devices from the environment, since they are ugly and dangerous for people.
[0006] Further drawback of the known towel stand devices, upright and fixed to wall, consists
in that they are respectively subjects to falls and remarkably projecting, thus being
subjects to damages and dangerous for the users.
[0007] The main object of the present invention is to propose a support device for sink
fit for sustaining the sink and towels or the like at the same time, having the minimum
encumbrance.
[0008] Other object is to propose a device, which guarantees a firm blocking of the sink
on the horizontal plan too, and which does not require covers or containment furniture.
[0009] Further object is to propose a strong device, steady and and safe for the users.
[0010] The above-mentioned objects are achieved according to contents of claims.
[0011] The characteristics of the present invention are underlined in the following with
particular reference to the attached drawings, in which:
- figure 1 shows a schematic axonometric view of the device object of present invention
associated to a sink and in an assembled condition;
- figures from 2 to 8 show axonometric views of respective variants of the figure 1
device.
[0012] With reference to figure 1, numeral 100 indicates the support device for a sink 2
provided with a bath 3. The sink 2 may have an edge 10, annular shaped or enlarged
to form a shelf, protruding peripherally and sideways close to the mouth of bath 3.
[0013] The device 100 include a couple of support means 1 each provided with a fixing element
4 connected to a first extended support element 6.
[0014] In an assemblage condition M of device 100, each fixing element 4 is fixed to a vertical
wall, for instance by known and not shown screw anchors or locking means, and each
first support element 6 mates and supports the sink 2 from the bottom.
[0015] It is provided that the first support elements 6 mate the sink 2 at the lower portion
of bath 3 or of edge 10.
[0016] Each support means 1 of device 100 includes a second extended support element 7,
fit for sustaining towels and similar and connected to the fixing element 4 which
is nearly flat and vertically positioned.
[0017] The fixing element 4 and the support elements first 6 and second 7 of each support
mean 1 are carried in a single body 11 made of mineral glass, having almost constant
thickness; it is also provided that the single body 11 is made of synthetic glass
such as methacrylate, stone material, wood, plastic, ceramic, composite or metallic
materials and combinations thereof.
[0018] Each first support element 6 has extended and modeled shape for approximately reproducing
the plan shape of a side portion of bath 3. It is provided, for instance, that the
first support element 6 is bent to form an elliptical or circular portion. The free
end of each first support element 6 has a respective chamfer 8.
[0019] The second support element 7 is shaped and has a plan approximately "S" shaped turned
toward the outside of sink 2 to make easier the use of towels or similar.
[0020] The free end of the second support element 7 has an ogival shaped chamfer 9.
[0021] In the variant of figure 2, the chamfer of the free end of second support element
7 has rounded shaped.
[0022] The support elements first 6 and second 7 of figure 3 variant are coplanar to the
fixing element 4 and the second support element 7 has curvilinear shaped profile.
[0023] The variant of figure 4 differs from the figure 3 variant in that the profile of
the second support element 7 is approximately "S" shaped, forming a housing fit for
avoiding the accidental fall of towels and similar.
[0024] In the variant of figure 5, the support means 1 are nearly flat and the free ends
of the support elements first 6 and second 7 are jointed by a joint element 12.
[0025] The variant of figure 6 differs from the variant of figure 5 in that the support
means 1, close to support elements 6, 7 are bent approximately with cylindrical shape.
[0026] The variant of figure 7 differs from the variant of figure 2 in that the second support
element 7 is approximately double "S" shaped, extending on planes nearly horizontal
and vertical.
[0027] In the variant of figure 8 the free ends of the first support element 6 of support
means 1 are connected in a single body through a connection element 13 and the free
ends of fixing elements 4 of support means 1 are connected in a single body through
a transversal element 14.
[0028] The first support elements 6 in collaboration with the connection element 13 define
an upper perimeter, having an almost circular shape and fit for supporting the bath
3. In case of a bath 3 having an approximately spherical cap shape, said circular
perimeter allows the orientation adjustment of the bath 3 mouth, advantageously allowing
to position said bath horizontally or, for instance, towards the user.
[0029] The main advantage of the present invention is to provide a support device for sink
capable to support the sink and towels at the same time, having the minimum encumbrance.
[0030] Further advantage is to provide a device which guarantees a firm blocking of the
sink on the horizontal plan too, and which does not require covers or containment
furniture, is very steady and safe for users.
