(57) The present invention relates to a rack assembly. The first and/or second shelf supporting planes defined by respectively first and/or second suspending elements of each shelf supporting element of the rack assembly are substantially parallel to each other. The first shelf supporting plane is located at a first distance (D1) from the first slot engaging edge of the first suspending element, whereas the second shelf supporting plane is located at a second distance (D2) from the second slot engaging edge of the second shelf suspending element. The first distance (D1) is different from the second distance (D2).
