(54) Brush seal


(57) A brush seal 101 is disclosed for installation in an apparatus having features 107, 109 for securing the brush seal 101, the brush seal comprises: a side plate 109; a back plate 107 and a bristle arrangement 113 secured between the side plate 109 and the back plate 107. The features of the apparatus act as the side plate and the back plate of the brush seal 101. A method of installing the brush seal 101 comprises providing an apparatus with features 107, 109 for securing the brush seal 101 thereto, providing a bristle arrangement 113; and securing the bristle arrangement 113 to the features so that the features 107, 109 act as a back plate and a side plate for the bristle arrangement 113.
