(57) Coin operated game machines (1-3) having rotatable reels (12) which display symbols (16) at a win zone are linked to a common control device (20). The control device (20) causes the reels (12) to rotate through the same numbers of steps for all machines. Each machine may have three reels which are 'offset' from their starting positions respectively by three different numbers of steps, the same combination of the three different numbers being used for all machines.
