(57) Ink tank for an ink jet printer, comprising a casing having a bottom wall (18) and
a front wall (20) with an opening (38') formed therein, and a bag (12) accommodated
in said casing (10) and collapsible into a sheet-like configuration, the bag (12)
having a top wall (26), a bottom wall (28), a front edge (36) and a spout (38) formed
in a central region of said front edge (36) and located at the position of said front
wall opening (38'), characterised in that the width (W) of the top and bottom walls
(26, 28) of the bag (12), when measured in a flat, sheet-like configuration and in
the direction of the front edge (36), is larger than the width of the casing (10),
and in that the front wall opening (38') is located near the bottom wall (18) of the
casing (10).
