[0001] The present invention relates to a bath dresser with simplified structure.
[0002] As is known, commercially available bath dressers are usually provided by means of
a supporting framework that has a substantially rectangular base and supports a tub
on which a changing surface can be arranged detachably and can be opened by tilting
or by separation.
[0003] Known solutions are usually complicated from a structural standpoint and most of
all are unable to provide assurance of the correct positioning of the changing surface
both in the open position and in the closed position; accordingly, clearly dangerous
accidents might happen.
[0004] Another problem is constituted, furthermore, by the fact that such bath dressers
are usually bulky, and difficulties are encountered in achieving a good collapsibility
of the structure in order to contain it in relatively small boxes that allow to transport
it easily.
[0005] The aim of the invention is to solve the problems described above, by providing a
bath dresser with simplified structure that allows to have a changing surface that
cannot be separated physically from the supporting framework and is further provided
with safety means that ensure at all times its precise positioning, absolutely avoiding
any possibility of accidental displacement.
[0006] Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a bath dresser whose structure
can be disassembled easily without having to resort to the use of screws or tools
of any kind.
[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a bath dresser that thanks
to its particular constructive characteristics is capable of giving the greatest assurances
of reliability and safety in use.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide a bath dresser that can be
obtained easily starting from commonly commercially available elements and materials
and is also competitive from a merely economical standpoint.
[0009] This aim and these and other objects that will become better apparent hereinafter
are achieved by a bath dresser with simplified structure, according to the invention,
comprising a supporting framework that supports, in an upward region, a tub that can
be closed in an upward region by a changing surface, characterized in that it comprises
pivoting means provided with a bracket that is associated with the edge of said changing
surface and rotatably engages the upper frame of said framework, disengageable locking
means being further provided in order to retain said changing surface in a raised
position so as to allow disengagement.
[0010] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent
from the detailed description of a bath dresser with simplified structure, illustrated
by way of non-limitative example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a schematic front perspective view of the bath dresser, with the changing
surface in the closed position;
Figure 2 is a front perspective view of the bath dresser, with the changing surface
in the open position;
Figure 3 is a side elevation view of the bath dresser;
Figure 4 is a schematic exploded view of the bath dresser;
Figure 5 is a sectional view of the closure means of the changing surface;
Figure 6 is a schematic sectional view of the pivoting means of the changing surface;
Figure 7 is a partially cutout plan view of the locking means of the changing surface.
[0011] With reference to the figures, the bath dresser with simplified structure, according
to the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a supporting
framework, generally designated by the reference numeral 2, which is provided by means
of modular tubular elements that form an upper frame provided by two upper half-elements
3, which can be joined each other by means of automatic couplings that provide for
an insertion pin 11 that is pushed by a spring. The two upper half-elements are connected
to posts 4 by means of the same coupling elements, and said posts are in turn connected
to lower half-elements 5, which form a lower frame that is optionally provided with
castors.
[0012] Intermediate trays, generally designated by the reference numeral 10, are connected
to the framework thus formed, and are provided with positioning holes in which the
pins 11 provided in the tubular posts 4 fit; the trays 10, moreover, support central
trays 10a.
[0013] At the upper frame formed by the half-elements 3 it is possible to fix a tub, designated
by the reference numeral 20, which is provided with radial ridges 21 with a recess
22 for stable interlocking coupling.
[0014] Above the tub 20, which is detachably associable with the framework and is provided
with its own supporting feet 23, there is a changing surface 30, which is pivoted
to the upper frame by means of bracket elements 31, which are connected to the changing
surface 30 and have a circular seat 32 that rotatably engages the upper frame formed
by the half-elements 3.
[0015] In order to perform locking in the closed position, as shown in Figure 6, there is
an oscillating lever 36, which is pushed elastically so as to surround the post 4,
when the surface 30 is in the position for use, so that when one wishes to perform
the opening action by tilting the changing surface it is necessary to act on the lever
in order to disengage it from the post.
[0016] On the opposite edge of the changing surface there are closure means, which comprise
a locking handle 40 that is pivoted to horizontal pivots 41 and is subjected to the
elastic action of coiled springs 42, which keep an engagement tooth 43 under the rim
of the tub 20, so that optimum locking is achieved.
[0017] In these conditions, in order to open the changing surface it is necessary to first
act on the handle 40 and then act on the lever 36 in order to disengage it from the
post 4 and allow rotation.
[0018] It should also be added to the above that it is usually possible to apply foam mats,
generally designated by the reference numeral 50, to the changing surface.
[0019] The tub is further provided with an opening 51 for draining the water, which is provided
on the bottom, and a ledge 52 can be applied to the upper frame and lies laterally
adjacent to the tub 20.
[0020] From the above description it is therefore evident that the invention achieves the
proposed aim and objects, and in particular the fact is stressed that a bath dresser
is provided which has an extremely simplified structure and allows to reduce its dimensions
considerably.
[0021] In practice, the materials used, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions,
may be any according to requirements.
