(57) In a device for conveying stacks (2) of sheets of paper or the like, each stack (2) is caused to advance along a pre-set path (P) inside a pocket (21), which has a resting surface (P1) for supporting the stack (2) and is provided with at least one pressure member (23) designed to grip the stack (2) on the resting surface (P1) during at least part of the displacement of the pocket (21) along the path (P).
