(54) Aggregate cleaning

(57) It is necessary to clean the aggregate in so called French drains in order to maintain their efficiency. Apparatus (100) in accordance with the present invention is provided whereby the aggregate (101) is removed and processed through a cleaning combination (15,219) whereby debris is removed from the aggregate (101) and cleaned aggregate returned to the French drain. The cleaning combination (15,219) is a mesh (15) drum with agitators (21) to ensure good percussive shock to the aggregate (101) as it tumbles upon rotation of the drum. Removed debris is either finely scattered to avoid landfill or collected/graded for appropriate disposal. Thus, each of the present apparatus reduces the volume of landfill associated with maintaining French drains.
