(54) Sheet supply apparatus for an image forming apparatus


(57) A paper pick-up device of an image forming apparatus has a rack member (521) disposed on a pickup bracket (510) supporting a pickup roller (200) to pick-up a paper sheet (1), and a pinion (522) engaged with rack member (521). The pickup bracket (510) reciprocally moves with according to the paper characteristics set by a printing command, so that the pickup roller (200) moves to one position among at least two positions which are pre-set in accordance with the paper characteristics and picks-up the paper sheet (1). Accordingly, since the paper pick-up device prevents slip, multiple-transferring, and paper jam from occurring, the paper sheet (1) is accurately picked-up and transferred.
