OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This specification refers to a Utility Model application, associated to a sorting
unit for domestic wastes, whose purpose is based on being a unit that can be fitted
inside a unit that is under the kitchen sink unit, which consists of a container for
wastes that are deposited through an opening, or it can have the form of a slope that
leads to the different compartments inside the main bin.
[0002] The invention can consist of a main unit that has five compartments with an access
area, where the wastes are deposited, and the container itself can be moved in different
ways to facilitate its removal.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The field of application for this invention is within the industrial sector that
focuses on the manufacture of units, especially kitchen and similar units.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The applicant is aware that currently there are numerous bins or containers that
have inner compartments that enable the direct sorting of wastes inside the bin.
[0005] Likewise, the applicant is aware that units exist that can be fitted to kitchen units
that enable wastes to be suitably deposited and sorted, either because they have waste
disposal units or similar elements that subsequently generate the evacuation of the
contents in a different way, such as, for example, eliminating liquids, reducing the
volume of metal objects and even crushing glass and plastic items.
[0006] However the applicant is not aware that at present a sorting unit for domestic wastes
exists, that can be fitted to the lower part of a traditional kitchen unit, more specifically
under the sink, that has suitable characteristics to sort wastes.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The sorting unit for domestic wastes proposed by the invention, is itself an apparent
innovation, as due to its characteristics, it can be fitted inside a kitchen unit
under the sink unit. It does not require additional space and it offers a way to sort
wastes and to remove the actual waste bin.
[0008] More specifically, the sorting unit for domestic wastes consists of a part that can
be manufactured in any material that is esteemed suitable, such as chipboard, wood,
etc., with a lacquered or veneered external surface, with the corresponding handles
and even with imitation drawers. The areas that access the inside are made up of grooves
that have a removable tray with inner channels in which the wastes are deposited,
these channels connect to the corresponding area in the waste bin inside, and the
bin can be removed by operating a pedal or by pulling on a handle or similar object,
that is positioned on the part that holds the bin.
[0009] Likewise, the invention can have only one single groove or opening that accesses
the inside of the waste bin, and this can even be positioned on an element that moves
the container outwards.
[0010] Similarly, we ought to point out that the invention can be a bin without compartments,
that has a part on the outside of the unit that holds the bin, which can be moved
until it is positioned diagonally, thus making the opening through which the wastes
are deposited into the container inside.
[0011] The invention can have a connecting rod that is activated by a pedal, that moves
the bin outwards.
[0012] This means that the part is moved directly outwards by the user, making an opening
or entrance for the wastes, that has sorting or non-sorting areas.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0013] To complement this description and with a view to help to better understand the characteristics
of this invention, an integral part of the specifications include a set of drawings,
that are provided for illustration purposes, but are not limiting, and they show the
following:
Figure number 1.- Shows a perspective view of the object of the invention, a sorting
unit for domestic wastes, fitted to the inside of a traditional kitchen unit.
Figure number 2.- Represents a similar invention to that shown in figure number 1,
but it doesn't include the removable part that acts as a direct entry vehicle to deposit
the wastes into the compartmental bin.
Figure number 3.- Shows a view of the invention fitted with a front piece that enables
the collector container to be removed.
Figure number 4.- Corresponds to a view of the invention, with a bin without inner
compartments, it has a closing element that acts as an entry slope and an opening
that leads into the bin itself.
Figure number 5.- Corresponds to an A-B view of the object shown in figure number
1.
Figure number 6.- Shows a view of the object shown in figure number 5 with the access
hatch open.
Figure number 7.- Shows a C-D view of the object shown in figure number 3.
Figure number 8.- Represents a view of the object shown in figure number 7 with the
access hatch open.
Figure number 9.- Corresponds to a view of the invention with the collector bin moved
outwards with the access hatch closed.
PREFERRED REALISATION MODE FOR THE INVENTION
[0014] Looking at the drawings we can see how the sorting unit for domestic wastes is designed
to be fitted inside a traditional kitchen unit (1) under the sink unit, (2) the part
has imitation doors (5) fitted with handles (4) and inside there is a container (3),
as shown in figure number 1, that has a removable tray (7) with channels (8) that
coincide with the channels inside (6) the collector bin (7). There is a pedal (13)
which when activated moves the bin outwards, so that it can be removed.
[0015] The invention can include a transversal opening (6) with a handle to pull on (4),
instead of the slope or tray (7), that leads to the compartments (6) in the waste
collector bin (3).
[0016] In figure number 3 you can see how the invention can be fitted with the means (12)
to move the waste collector bin, operated by the pedal (13).
[0017] In figure number 4 you can see how the sorting unit can be a container (10) without
compartments, there is a door (11) on the front, that coincides with the collector
bin (10), that has a retaining device that tilts when the pedal is operated (13),
so that the wastes can be deposited inside the collector container or bin.
[0018] In figures 5 and 6 you can see how the invention in the format of a waste collector
fitted inside the sorting unit, has a connecting rod (12) attached to an axle (14)
with an upper part (15) that, when operated (13), brings about the opening of the
access part or slope (7) that connects to inside the waste container (3). In figure
number 5 you can see how the access door or slope (7) is closed, positioning itself
vertically and in figure number 6, when the pedal is operated (13), you can see how
the access door or slope (7) tilts so that the user has access to the bin (3).
[0019] In figures 7, 8 and 9, you can see how the connecting rods previously described have
been substituted, and there is a mechanical element (16) made up of a cylindrical
component with cables attached (17) so that, when the pedal is operated, the access
door or slope opens (7), and the user has access to the bin (10) and can even move
the bin at a sloping angle in order to remove the contents.
1. The sorting unit for domestic wastes, to be fitted inside a conventional kitchen unit
(1), under a sink unit (2) fitted with imitation doors and drawers with handles (4),
is characteristic as it has a bin inside (3) that on the outside has a slope (7) fitted
with separating partitions (8) that connect to inside the bin (3), that also has compartments
formed by vertical partitions (6). The access slope (7) can be substituted by a transversal
opening (9) and there is an operating pedal (13) that is situated on the outside front.
2. The sorting unit for domestic wastes, according to the first claim, is characteristic
because the bin (3) can be moved outwards by a connecting rod (12) that has an axis
of rotation (14) and is joined to a part (15) that operates the access door (7), that
has inner compartments.
3. The sorting unit for domestic wastes, according to the previous claims, is characteristic
because the waste bin (3) can be substituted by a waste bin without compartments,
and on the upper front area the sorting unit has an access slope (11) with a retention
device, that holds it in the sloping position.
4. The sorting unit for domestic wastes, according to the previous claims, has characteristic
features because the access slope or door (7) that connects to the bin (10) can be
moved by a circular component (16) which has a cable attached (17) that moves the
access door (7), as well as the waste bin (10), until it reaches an outward sloping
position.
