[0001] The present invention relates to a stand for illuminated advertisements comprising
a frame part, at least one poster surface connected to the frame part, onto which
surface a poster or the like to be displayed can be placed, lighting means arranged
on the inside of the frame part for illuminating the poster surface from behind, and
a cover part, which can be placed over the poster surface and which has a transparent
face for displaying the poster on the poster surface.
[0002] The aim of the invention is to provide a stand for illuminated advertisements, wherein
the poster or the like displayed in the illuminated advertisement can be brought out
when opening the cover, so as to facilitate access to the poster, thus making the
changing of the poster easier without having to open the cover part fully, or even
remove it completely, in order to make changing of the poster possible. To achieve
this aim, the stand for illuminated advertisements according to the invention is characterised
in that between the cover part and the poster surface is arranged a mechanism which
allows the poster surface to move with respect to the frame part, when the cover part
is opened, in such a way that the poster on the poster surface becomes more easily
accessible to facilitate the changing of the poster, and that dosing the cover part
will cause the poster surface to return from the poster changing position to the poster's
normal display position.
[0003] Document FR-A-2 791 800 describes an advertisement stand with a transparent cover.
After opening this cover, a poster surface inside the stand can be manually moved
free of the housing and slid vertically on rails to facilitate access.
[0004] Some preferred embodiments of the invention are disclosed in the dependent claims.
[0005] The invention is described in greater detail in the following, with reference to
the accompanying drawings, In which:
- Figure 1
- shows a diagrammatic front view of the stand for illuminated advertisements according
to the invention
- Figure 2
- shows a diagrammatic side view of the stand for illuminated advertisements according
to the invention, when one cover part of the stand for illuminated advertisements
is in the open position, and
- Figure 3
- shows in greater detail the mechanism for bringing out the poster on the poster surface
in order to facilitate changing.
[0006] In accordance with the figures, the stand for illuminated advertisements 1 comprises
a frame part 2 to which are, in this embodiment, connected two poster surfaces 3,
onto which the posters or the like to be displayed can be placed, and which poster
surfaces can each be covered with the corresponding cover part 4. Inside the frame
part 2 are provided lighting means (not shown) in the usual manner in order to illuminate
the poster surfaces from behind, to display the poster on the poster surface better.
The cover part 4 has a transparent face 5, preferably of glass, through which the
poster on the poster surface can be seen. The face 5 is attached with attachment means
7 against the inner surface of the frame 9 of the cover part 4 through a sealing part
8. The cover part 4 is hinged from its top edge, at the point marked with reference
numeral 6, to open with respect to the frame part 2.
[0007] According to the invention, between the cover part 4 and the poster surface 3 is
arranged a mechanism which comprises a slider 10 arranged to move back and forth along
the frame part 2, the said slider having a downwards extending arm 11, as shown in
Figure 3, at the lower end of which is articulated another arm 12 at point 13, the
opposite end of the arm being articulated to the cover part 4 at an articulation point
14. The arm 12 is articulated to the cover part 4 by means of a slot 23 formed on
the end of the arm and a pin 14 on the cover. This makes possible easy removal of
the cover part from the stand for illuminated advertisements by detaching the slot
23 in the arm 12 from the pin 14 and removing the cover part from the hinged joint
6. In the embodiment shown, the hinged joint 6 is comprised of a hooked part formed
on the cover part 4, and of a hinge pin arranged on the frame part 2, the hooked part
being dimensioned so that it can be pushed off from the top of the hinge pin by a
transverse movement. When the cover part 4 is opened, the slider 10 and the poster
surface 3 connected to it move downwards due to the effect of gravity, whereby the
poster surface will come out more from under the cover 4, thus facilitating access
to the poster and the changing of the poster. When the cover is closed, the slider
10 moves upwards by means of the arms 12 and 11, pulling the poster surface 3 upwards
at the same time, back to the normal display position in which the cover part is locked
to the frame part. The weight of the slider and the poster surface is preferably dimensioned
so that when the locking of the cover part with the frame part is unlocked, their
weight will suffice to open the cover part as much as is necessary for changing the
poster.
[0008] Such an embodiment is, however, also conceivable where the arm 12 is connected to
the cover part 4 in such a way that opening the cover part will pull the arm 12 along
with it, and thus the slider 10 downwards, whereby the weight of the slider and poster
surface are most preferably dimensioned in such a way that they will be able to hold
the lid in its open position.
[0009] In the above embodiments the cover is hinged at its upper edge, but a cover part
4 hinged from the side edge is also conceivable within the scope of the invention,
in which case the arm 12 must be attached to the cover part in such a way that opening
the cover part will pull the arm 12 and thus the slider 10 together with the poster
surface 3 with respect to the frame part 1 in such a way that the poster on the poster
surface will come out in the lateral direction of the stand for illuminated advertisements.
1. A stand for illuminated advertisements (1) comprising a frame part (2), at least one
poster surface (3) connected to the frame part, onto which surface a poster or the
like to be displayed can be placed, lighting means arranged on the inside of the frame
part for illuminating the poster surface from behind, and a cover part (4), which
can be placed over the poster surface and which has a transparent face (5) for displaying
the poster on the poster surface, characterised in that between the cover part (4) and the poster surface (3) is arranged a mechanism (10-12)
which allows the poster surface (3) to move with respect to the frame part (1), when
the cover part (4) is opened, in such a way that the poster on the poster surface
becomes more easily accessible to facilitate the changing of the poster, and that
closing the cover part will cause the poster surface to return from the poster changing
position to the poster's normal display position.
2. A stand for illuminated advertisements as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the shifting mechanism comprises a slider (10) connected to the poster surface (3)
and arranged to move back and forth along the frame part, the slider comprising a
first arm (11) extending in the direction of movement of the slider, on the opposite
end of the arm with respect to the slider is connected a second arm (12) in an articulated
(13) manner, the opposite end of which is connected to the cover part (4) in an articulated
(14) manner, whereby opening the cover part will pull the slider and the poster surface
connected to it by means of the arms along the frame part, towards the changing position
of the poster.
3. A stand for illuminated advertisements as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that the shifting mechanism comprises a slider (10) connected to the poster surface (3)
and arranged to move back and forth vertically along the frame part, the slider comprising
a downwards extending first arm (11), to the lower end of which is connected a second
arm (12) in an articulated manner (13), the opposite end of the arm being connected
in an articulated manner (14) to the cover part (4), whereby when the cover part is
opened, the slider (10) and the poster surface connected to it will be able to move
downwards due to the effect of gravity, towards the poster changing position.
