(54) Structural system for a display

(57) The invention relates to a structural system for a display of four interconnected legs (1) as well as sheet shaped shelves (2) which extend above each other zigzag-shapedly between the legs. The shelves each comprise two opposite shaped end edges (5,6), of which one end edge (5) rests against a pair of legs and has outer form parts (7) between which said pair of legs is enclosed and of which the other end edge (6) rests against the other pair of legs and has inner form parts (9) which are enclosed between said other pair of legs.

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a structural system for a display, consisting of four interconnected legs as well as shelves in a sheet form which extend zigzag-shapedly above each other between the legs.

[0002] A somewhat similar structural system is known and, for example, can be used for displaying or exposing printed work such as leaflets, brochures and such. Depending on the dimensions of the shelves, also series of CD's and DVD's, videotapes or books can be placed on them.

[0003] With the known structural system each shelf is separately connected with the legs, which is laborious. Therefore the known display is less suitable for temporary and variable use, in which often dismantling, constructing and transport is necessary.

[0004] It is the aim of the present invention to provide such a structural system, in which the aforementioned disadvantages are solved.

[0005] For this, a structural system for a display is further developed in such a way, characterized in that each shelf contains two opposite shaped end edges, in which one end edge rests against two legs and contains outer form-parts between which said two legs are enclosed and in which the other end edge rests against the other pair of legs and contains inner form-parts which are enclosed between those other pair of legs.

[0006] The advantage is that, with the structural system according to the invention, the shelves can simply be supported against the legs. With this the legs are enclosed between the form-parts of the shelves, which creates a very stable construction.

[0007] Further, the structural system according to the invention is further developed in such a way, that between the outer form-parts the enclosed end edge parts of a shelf rests against a surface side of an adjoining shelf, so that the shelves are supported in vertical direction in relation to each other. With that the bottom shelf can rest on a transverse connection which is applied between the legs.

[0008] Furthermore, the structural system according to a preferred embodiment of the invention is further developed in such a way that, each shelf contains a lip at one end edge and two corner projections at the other end edge, in which the lip is mainly situated between the first pair of legs and each corner projection is situated at the outer sides, which are turned away from each other of the other pair of legs.

[0009] The invention also concerns a shelf, clearly designated to use with a structural system, comprising two formed end edges opposite to each other, in which one end edge has outer form-parts which enclose a single receding end edge part, and in which the other end edge has inner form-parts, which on both sides are limited by two receding end edge parts.

[0010] The preferred construction of the invention will be described by way of example, and with reference to the accompanying drawing.

[0011] In which:
Fig. 1
shows a display constructed by means of the structural system according to the invention;
Fig. 2
shows a top view of a shelf for the display of figure 1;
Fig. 3
shows the detail III of figure 1;
Fig. 4
shows the detail IV of figure 3; and
Fig. 5
shows the detail V of figure 3.

[0012] The display shown in figure 1 is constructed of four legs 1, between which a series of shelves 2 extend themselves in a zigzag-shape. The legs 1 are interconnected in pairs by distance blocks or spaces 3 to posts 12. The distance blocks 3 are interconnected by bars 4 at the topside and bottom side of the display.

[0013] As indicated in figure 2, each shelf 4 has shaped end edges 5, 6 positioned opposite to each other.

[0014] At both ends, the formed end edge 5 has outer form-parts or noses 7, which enclose a withdrawn or receding end edge part 8.

[0015] The other end edge 6 has an inner form-part or broad lip 9, which at both sides is limited by the end edge parts 10, which are withdrawn and receding.

[0016] As shown in figures 1 and 3 up to 4 the shelves 2 are placed in such a way, that each time the noses 7 are always positioned beyond the two legs 1, laying opposite to each other, while the lip 9 is situated between the pair of legs 1. Each leg 1 is therefore locked close fitting between repeatedly a series of noses 7 and lips 9. The legs 1 are therefore stably supported across their total height, which benefits the stability of the whole display.

[0017] The bottom shelf 2 with the withdrawing or receding end edge part 8 also rests on the distance blocks 3. The upper next second shelf 2 rests with the withdrawn or receding end edge part 8 thereof on the side surface 11 of the bottom shelf 2, etcetera.

[0018] Finally it has to be emphasized, that the above description constitutes preferred embodiments of the fold-up chair of the invention, but that further variations and modifications are still possible without departing the scope of this patent document.
