[0001] The parked vehicle parking information display system is described a clear self adhesive
vinyl parking label which is affixed to the inside of the window of the parked vehicle,
and displaying therein the vehicle's serial identification numbers and the telephone
access numbers of the Telecom or Service Provider.
[0002] The operator of the parked vehicle parks his or her vehicle in a cost controlled
parking credit time limit zone. The parked vehicle operator telephones the Telecom
or Service Provider by entering into his or her telephone instrument key pad in sequence
the set of Telecom or Service Provider numbers as is displayed on the self adhesive
parking label located on the inside of the window of the parked vehicle. The Telephone
instrument referred to herein is described as a mobile telephone, public callbox,
a private telephone or a business telephone.
[0003] The parked vehicle operator is answered by a Telecom or Service Provider automated
telephone service and is requested to enter the code area from where the access telephone
call is being telephoned from, e.g. in the Cork area the telephone code is 021, in
Dublin the telephone code would be 01, and from any other area where a designated
telephone code area is operated by the Telecom or Service Provider.
[0004] The operator of the parked vehicle enters the telephone area code number, by keying
into the keypad of his or her telephone instrument the area code number displayed
on the self adhesive parking label, by depressing the Cork area number '0' followed
by depressing the number `2', followed by depressing the number '1' and the Telecom
or Service Provider recognises the telephone area code from where the telephone call
is being sent.
[0005] The Telecom or Service Provider requests the operator of the parked vehicle to enter
the serial identification numbers in sequence and corresponding to the serial identification
numbers as is displayed on the self adhesive parking label located on the inside of
the window of the parked vehicle.
[0006] The operator of the parked vehicle enters in sequence the set of serial identification
numbers as is displayed on his or her self adhesive parking label and the Telecom
or Service Provider recognises the serial identification numbers of the operator of
the parked vehicle in the Telecom or Service Providers automated answering service.
The Telecom or Service Provider requests the operator of the parked vehicle to then
enter the parking zone number, in which the vehicle is parked, e.g. the operator of
the parked vehicle enters into his or her telephone instrument the number '1' indicating
to the Telecom or Service Provider that the vehicle is parked in a one-hour parking
zone, the number 2' to indicate a two-hour parking zone the number '4' to indicate
a four hour parking zone, the number '0' to indicate an overnight parking zone and
any other numerical order which is assigned by the Telecom or Service Provider in
relation to any other parking area, e.g. bus, train or airport parking zones, and
any cost-controlled parking area.
The Telecom or Service Provider provides further codes in numbers and letters to denote
an exact location of the parked vehicle.
[0007] The operator of the parked vehicle is allowed to legally park their vehicle in a
cost-controlled parking area only for the time limit zone designated. The operator
of the parked vehicle telephones the Telecom or Service Provider to request legal
valid credit parking time for his or her vehicle. The Telecom or Service Provider
confirms and authorises the operator the commencement of valid legal parking time.
The Telecom or Service Provider bills the operator of the parked vehicle for parking
time, debiting his or her account, i.e. credit card account, mobile telephone account,
business telephone account or private account.
[0008] The operator of the parked vehicle can check his or her current valid parking time
by phoning or sending a text message to the Telecom or Service Provider from his or
her telephone instrument.

parking time status of the parked vehicle by telephoning the Telecom or Service Provider.
The Traffic Regulations official enters and keys in to his or her telephone instrument
keypad the Telecom or Service Provider access telephone numbers by depressing each
number in sequence displayed on the self adhesive parking label.
[0010] The Traffic Regulations official is then requested by the Telecom or Service Provider
to key in the serial identification number of the parked vehicle which is displayed
on the self adhesive label on the parked car. The Telecom or Service Provider confirms
the commencement of the vehicle parking time and valid parking time remaining.
