[0001] The present invention concerns a swivel clip for the support and the sliding of fabrics, in particular curtains.
[0002] Swivel clips comprising a clip for the hooking of fabrics and a closed ring with round shape, integral with the clip, that hangs over said clip are known. The shape of the ring allows its sliding along the bar for the support of the fabrics.
[0003] Said known swivel clips have the disadvantage to wear out quickly in the contact zone between the ring and the supporting bar, and to guarantee a rather limited hold of the heavier fabrics. In addition, the interaction between the ring and the bar generates, during the movement, undesirable noises.
[0004] In view of this state of the art, the object of the present invention is to provide a swivel clip that has constructive and functional advantages as compared with the aforesaid known swivel clips.
[0005] According to the invention such object is attained by a swivel clip comprising a clip and a closed ring with round shape, characterised in that the ring has helicoidal shape and the clip is made up of a back part to which the ring is bound, and of a front part with a fabric hooking portion that is elastically biased toward the engagement with said back part.
[0006] This type of clip makes the assembly of the user easy, by allowing the opening to hook curtains with a single hand, while with the other hand it will be possible to hold the fabrics, operation that is practically impossible with other known models. In the present invention in addition the distance between the sliding bar and the fabric hooking point is reduced thus improving its aesthetics.
[0007] The characteristics and the advantages of the present invention will become more evident from the following detailed description of an embodiment thereof that is illustrated as a non limiting example in the enclosed drawings, in which:

[0008] The swivel clip shown in the drawings comprises (Figures 1, 2, 3 and 5) a round ring with helicoidal coils 1 and a clip 2, integral with each other by means of a threaded connection 3 (Figure 2).
[0009] Said ring 1 can be provided with an internal protecting sheath 4, of self-lubricating material, that is shown in dotted line in Figures 2 and 3, and makes its maximum slidability possible along the bar for the support of curtains or other fabrics.
[0010] The clip 2 comprises a back part 5 of plastic or brass (Figures 1, 2, 3 and 5) and a front hooking part made of moulded tape 6, for instance representing a small hand (Figure 1). Said parts 5, 6 are connected through a pin 8 that engages in pierced blocks 9, integral with the back part 5, and on pierced supports 10 integral with the front part 6. A spring 7 embraces the pin 8 (Figure 2).
[0011] The spring 7 holds in closing position the front part 6, while maintaining a hooking portion 11 of the front part 6 in engagement with a corresponding toothed portion 12 of the back part 5 (Figures 2 and 3). By the simple pressure of a hand it is possible to open said front part 6 and to insert the fabric. Once the hand is removed, the closing action induced by the spring 7 will allow the holding of said fabric even if very heavy.
1. Swivel clip comprising a clip (2) and a closed ring with round shape (1), characterised in that the ring (1) has helicoidal shape and the clip (2) is made up of a back part (5)
to which the ring (1) is bound, and of a front part (6) with a fabric hooking portion
(11) that is elastically biased toward the engagement with said back part (5).
2. Swivel clip according to claim 1, characterised in that the ring (1) is provided with an internal sheath (4) of self-lubricating material.
3. Swivel clip according to claim 1, characterised in that the back part (5) of the clip (2) is of plastic.
4. Swivel clip according to claim 1, characterised in that the back part (5) of the clip (2) is of brass.
5. Swivel clip according to claim 1, characterised in that the ring (1) is integral with the back part (5) of the clip (2) by means of a threaded
connection (3).
6. Swivel clip according to claim 1, characterised in that the front part (6) of the clip (2) is held in closing position by a spring (7) wound
on a pin (8) that is engaged in pierced blocks (9), integral with the back part (5),
and on pierced supports (10) integral with the front part (6).
