(54) A method of delivering items from an item delivery system

(57) A method for delivering items from a delivery system comprising a control unit, a delivery platform, at least two storage parts for storing items to be delivered to customers. The customer identifies himself, the control unit identifies an item to be delivered and the storage part containing the item. The item is then conveyed from the storage part to the delivery platform, the customer thereby receiving the item. The customer may be advised in advance, e.g. via a global computer network, that an item is to be delivered to him. Useful for delivering ordered items, such as mail order items, library books, etc.
