(57) An ion guide (15;15') is disclosed comprising two interleaved comb arrangements conected to an AC generator.
Each comb comprises a plurality of electrodes having apertures which are preferably circular and substantially the same size. The electrodes may be either integral or electrically connected to a longitudinally extending member such as a bar or a spine. The ion guide is preferably maintained in a vacuum chamber at a relatively high pressure.
