(54) Reproducing apparatus and method, and recording apparatus and method

(57) A reproducing apparatus and a recording apparatus is capable of reducing the time taken to continuously read and record a plurality of data. Specifically, a readout order of data of a prescribed size composing data specified by a reproduction command from outside is determined (SP3) so that all the data of the prescribed size can be continuously reproduced while a head goes and returns once in the radiation direction of a disk. The position of the head in the radial direction of the disk is controlled so as to continuously reproduce the data of the prescribed size in the readout order. The data of the prescribed size reproduced from the disk via the head is rearranged (SP7) in a correct reproduction order based on the reproduction command and output.
