OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention refers to a device for painting the horizontal lines between
adjacent tiles in pavings, especially indoor pavings.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] As is known, when carrying out indoor pavings with tiles of different materials arranged
adjacent to one another, forming an array of rows and columns, it is normal for there
to be left finish strips of the work material for the seams between adjacent floor
tiles, which are normally intended to be covered with a coat of paint in order to
obtain a better surface finish. For this reason, said coat of paint is normally applied
by hand or with very elementary devices which, besides requiring a large amount of
manual labor, are also characterized by the lack of effeciency of the task performed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The present invention is intended for solving the aforementioned drawback, providing
means, specifically mechanical means, so that the painting the seams between floor
tiles may be carried out quickly and effeciently.
[0004] To achieve its objective, the present invention is embodied in a support very easily
incorporated on the end of any handle of those conventionally used for domestic utensils
and which, at the same time, is provided with the means for incorporating a container
carrying a disc for applying the paint to the lines that are wanted to be covered.
It is thus made possible to very easily couple the container carrying the painting
means to the manual application support, and the operator has the possibility to work
on the seams to be painted in an upright position which, besides significantly reducing
physical fatigue and therefore outstandingly increasing the coating operator's output,
also allows to work on the lines to be covered from a considerable distance, which
allows obtaining a better quality in the surface finishes given the improved perspective
view of the lines.
[0005] The support object of the present invention will preferably be a laminar-type support,
for example made in a suitable plastic-type material, manufactured by injection or
other methods, or in a stamped and/or bent plate material and provided with perforations
for achieving the same objective.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0006] Views of a preferred embodiment of the present invention are attached, as an illustrative
but non-limiting example, for a better understanding thereof.
Figure 1 shows a side elevational view of a device according to the present invention
coupled to a support handle.
Figure 2 shows a plan view of the device itself.
Figures 3 and 4 show each a perspective view of the support without the container
carrying the paint medium and the handle.
Figures 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 depict five detailed, and in some cases sectional, views
of the support of the device object of the present invention.
Figure 10 shows a perspective view of the way to use the support.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0007] As seen in the figures, the device object of the present invention comprises a support
(1) carrying the container (2) for the coating paint for the seams between tiles,
and a disk (3) for applying the paint, the assembly being coupled to a handle (17)
for manually operating the device.
[0008] The support (1) will preferably be integrated in a single piece of a plastic material
manufactured by injection, in which a central laminar portion (4) bears respective
noticeably 90°-rebated ends in the form of arms (5) and (6) intended for receiving
by pressure the coating paint carrier container (2), such that the upper arm (5) has
legs (7) and (8) for applying pressure and gripping the container (2), whereas the
lower arm (6) is provided with a central hole (9) intended for allowing passage of
the nozzle (10) of the container (2) carrying the coating paint. Thus the quick and
easy coupling of the container (2) to the support (1) is made possible, as well as
the disassembly thereof by simply overcoming the resilient action of the arms (7)
and (8) when said container must be replaced with a new one.
[0009] On the side opposite to that of the two arms (5) and (6), the support (1) itself
is provided with a stop (11) and a universal clamp having arms (12) and (13) with
inner retention ridges (14) intended for receiving the end of any domestic utensil
handle (17), therefore having a very broad field of application. Said handle will
be introduced by pressure between the arms (12) and (13) of the resilient-type holding
clamp, resting on the projection (11) of the support itself, allowing as a whole for
an arragement, as can be seen in figure 10, in which the application of the disk (3)
to a seam (15) of those which are left defined in a paving of tiles (16), (16')...
can be seen. The fact that the operator can use said device in an upright position
allows greater comfort and therefore higher operator performance output and, likewise,
greater accuracy in the task of coating the seams between tiles.
1. A device for painting tiling seams, characterized by comprising a support (1) for centering and retaining an seam coating paint applicator
container (2) and a universal clamp (12-13) for resiliently holding any domestic utensil
handle (17), together with an axial stop (11) for receiving the end of said handle
(17), allowing the operator to carry out the task of coating the seams in an upright
position.
2. A device for painting tiling seams according to claim 1, characterized in that the support (1) has a laminar structure with a central portion (4) provided on one
side with two arms (5) and (6) for retaining and centering the coating paint carrier
container (2) upside down, and on the opposite side with a resilient clamp (12-13)
and an axial stop (11) for a handle (17) for operating the device by hand.
3. A device for painting tiling seams according to previous claims, characterized in that the upper support arm (5) of the container (2) carrying the seam coating means has
downwardly-tilted resilient end legs (7) and (8) capable of applying pressure on the
base of said upside down container (2).
4. A device for painting tiling seams according to previous claims, characterized in that the opposite arm (6) for holding the coating means carrier container (2) intended
for the end-to-end receiving of the upper end of said container (2) has a central
opening (9) for the centering and passage of the nozzle (10) of said container carrying
the applicator disk (3).
5. A device for painting tiling seams according to claim 1, characterized in that the clamp for the resilient holding of the support handle (17) has two resilient
and oppositely curved arms (12-13) opposing one another, with inner ridges (14) for
improving holding of the handle.
6. A device for painting tiling seams according to claim 1, characterized in that the support is provided with a projecting stop (11) intended for receiving the axial
action of the handle after being introduced in the holding clamp (12-13).
