Object of the Invention
[0001] The present invention refers to a method for the personalisation of sports garments.
Background to the invention
[0002] Generally, the garments worn by the players of football, basketball and other sports
include differing identifications, such as the name and number of the player and generally,
the team sponsor's name.
[0003] As is well known, a part of the club's income is generated from the sale of sports
garments to the team's followers, the followers choosing the garments that include
the name and number of their favourite follower.
[0004] At the present time the stated garments do not have limited life, as the identifications
that are shown on same are not changed during the time that the player remains with
the team, this being because the players usually keep the same number.
[0005] This feature means that the shirts acquired by the followers or members of a team
can be valid for several seasons, hence the followers do not consider renewing them,
thus considerably reducing the possible income for the clubs from the sale of these
types of garments.
Description of the invention
[0006] The method for the personalisation of sporting garments object of this invention
aims to introduce a modification in the sports garments of each player in a specific
team, every time that said player wins a tournament or championship. This will be
in such a way that a player's followers can acquire an updated shirt every time the
player in the team wins a new tournament, be it with the team or with his/her selection,
with the resulting increase in club revenue.
[0007] In accordance with the invention, this method considers the incorporation of a distinctive
identifying mark onto the sports garments for a specific tournament every time the
player in the team wins said tournament or championship by using conventional techniques
of gluing, sewing, printing, etc.
[0008] By means of this method, the garments worn by each player on a team can have different
distinguishing features, showing in each case the record of accomplishment of each
player.
[0009] The variation over time of the garments of each player forms an incentive for the
followers or supporters of a team or of a player to acquire those sports garments
that carry the new distinguishing marks, with the resulting increase in team revenue.
Description of the figures
[0010] In order to complement the description that has been made and for the purpose of
making the characteristics of the invention easier to understand, attached to this
present document is a set of drawings in which, by way of being illustrative but not
limiting, the following has been represented:
Figures 1 and 2 respectively show elevation front and rear views of a personalised
sports shirt in accordance with the method object of the present invention.
Figure 3 shows a perspective front view of a pair of sports shorts, personalised in
accordance with the method object of the present invention.
Preferred embodiment of the invention
[0011] As can be seen in the referred figures, the sports garments (1 & 5) of a player,
respectively represented in this example by an embodiment of a shirt (1) and a pair
of shorts (5), incorporate a series of conventional identifications such as the number
(2) and the name of the player (3).
[0012] The method advocated in this invention considers the fixing of successive distinguishing
marks (4a, 4b & 4c) onto the sports garments (1 & 2) worn by a player, making reference
to championships or tournaments as the player wearing the garments (1 & 5) wins said
tournaments.
[0013] In this way, the distinguishing marks (4a, 4b & 4c) that are shown on the sports
garments ( 1 & 5) of a particular player show his/her record of accomplishment and
consequently the awards won by same in his/her sporting career, independently of the
team in which he/she had played in each case.
[0014] By means of this method, the new distinguishing marks (4a, 4b & 4c) are gradually
incorporated into the different sports garments (1 & 5) as the player wins new championships,
irrespectively of which team he/she plays with or that he/she changes team.
[0015] As stated previously, the incorporation of successive distinguishing marks (4a, 4b
& 4c) onto the sports garments (1 & 5) of the player can be carried out by any conventional
technique of gluing, sewing, printing, etc.
[0016] Finally, it is worth highlighting that, even though in the example of the embodiment
shown in the figures of the sports garments (1 & 5) the specific items shown are a
shirt and a pair of shorts, this method is also applicable to the personalising of
any other item of sports wear, such as: track suits, trousers, tights, gloves, knee
pads, boots, etc.
[0017] Having given sufficient description to the nature of the invention, likewise an example
of the preferred embodiment, it is placed on record to whom it may concern that modifications
can be introduced into same provided that it does not mean an alteration to the essential
characteristics of the invention that are claimed below.
