| (54) | Turnstile security system |
| (57) A security access entry channel unit (2) has a wall (22) defining two channels (4,6)
each through a separate mantrap turnstile (8, 10) at either side of a control cabin
(20). Two V-shaped screens 35 are fitted to the upper portion of the rotor posts (28)
at head height opposite a window in the cabin so that a camera can capture facial
dimensions of a person in a quadrant of the turnstile facing the cabin (20). Biometric
facial recognition can then be used to identify the user and release the rotor assembly
(24) of the turnstile to either allow the user through a secure perimeter or return
the user to his point of entry. A clock also records time of entry and exit of each
user and can output data directly to a payroll administration system.
