[0001] The present invention refers to a buckle, mainly used with car security belts, and
specially for its use with security carrycots for cars.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The use of buckles is known to adjust the security belts used in cars. These buckles
usually comprise an opening surrounded by the body of the buckle and an intermediate
body along the opening.
[0003] One particular use of these buckles is in security carrycots for cars.
[0004] In order to adjust the belt it is necessary to pass it through the opening and intermediate
body. To set it, the intermediate body has a slight mobility to slightly separate
it from the body of the buckle.
[0005] But in practice it has been proved that the introduction of the belt in the opening,
over the intermediate body is very uncomfortable, even slow.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0006] With the buckle of this invention the abovementioned problems are solved, featuring
other advantages which will be described.
[0007] The buckle if the present invention comprises an opening and an intermediate body
to pass an strip-like element between them, and it is characterized in that such an
opening comprises a notch to pass the strip-like element in the opening.
[0008] Advantageously, such an intermediate body is articulated with the rest of the buckle,
defining a free and a fixed end, in such a manner that the intermediate body can adopt
an open or closed position.
[0009] Preferably, such a notch coincides with the free end of the intermediate body when
it is in the closed position.
[0010] With the buckle of the present invention it is much more comfortable and fast to
put the strip-like element than with the conventional buckles.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0011] For a better understanding of the above mentioned, a series of drawings are attached,
in which in a schematic way and only as a non limitative example, a practical case
of embodiment is represented.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the buckle of the present invention in the open
position, without the seat belt;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the buckle of the present invention in the open
position, with the seat belt;
Figure 3 is a plan view of the buckle of the present invention in the closed position,
with the seat belt.
DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0012] Such and as it can be seen from the figures, the buckle of the present invention,
generally identified by the numeric reference 1, comprises an opening 2 with a notch
3 in one of its sides.
[0013] The buckle 1 also comprises an intermediate body 4 which extends itself along the
opening 2 and it is articulated respecting the rest of the buckle 1.
[0014] Such an intermediate body 4 defines a free end and a fixed end, in such a way that
the intermediate body can adopt a position of open (figures 1 and 2) or a position
of close (figure 3).
[0015] The placing of the strip-like element 5, preferably a seat belt, through the abovementioned
opening 2 around the intermediate body 4 is made in an easy and fast way.
[0016] To do so, first the fixed end of the intermediate body 4 is pressed to elevate the
free end in relation with the rest of the buckle, as indicated in figure 1 by means
of arrow signs.
[0017] Next, the seat belt 5 is inserted through the notch 3 and over of such an intermediate
body 4, as it can be seen in figure 2.
[0018] Finally, the intermediate body 4 is set in the close position, as it can be seen
in figure 3.
[0019] If you wish to remove the seat belt 5 from the buckle 1 of the present invention,
the process is the reverse to the process described above.
[0020] Although the buckle 1 of the present invention is thought to be used mainly to adjust
seat belts for car carrycots, it is self evident that it can also be used for other
appropriate applications.
[0021] Despite it has been made reference to a particular embodiment of the invention, it
is apparent for an person skilled in the art that the described buckle is capable
of suffering multiple variations and modifications, and that all the above mentioned
details can be substituted by others which are technically equivalent, not departing
from the scope of protection defined in the annexed claims.
1. Buckle (1), which comprises an opening (2) and an intermediate body (4) to put through
an strip-like element (5) between both, characterized in that such an opening (2) comprises a notch (3) to put such an strip-like element (5) in
said opening (2).
2. Buckle according to claim 1, characterized in that such an intermediate body (4) is articulated about the rest of the buckle (1), defining
a free end and a fixed end, in such a way that such an intermediate body (4) can adopt
an open position or a close position.
3. Buckle according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that such a notch (3) coincides with the free end of the intermediate body (4) when it
is in the close position.
