(54) Process cartridge, positioning mechanism therefor and electrophotographic image forming apparatus


(57) A process cartridge to be carried on a movable guide (101) relative to the main assembly (100) of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus (A) from a receiving position toward a mount position in interrelation with movement of the movable guide, includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum; process means actable on the drum; a cartridge frame (85); first and second positioning portions to be positioned relative to the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly, the positioning portion extending outwardly from the frame adjacent the two longitudinal ends of the drum; first and second portions to be carried and, respectively, provided at the two longitudinal ends of the drum, for being supported by the movable guide, the portions being disposed on a bottom surface of the frame; and a third positioning portion (82) provided on at least one of the portions to be carried at a leading side with respect to a mounting direction in which the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly, wherein the third positioning portion has a first rotation stopper surface (82a) for stopping rotation of the cartridge about the positioning portions by abutting to a surface (101a-h) of the movable guide.
