OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a container lid which comprises a sound dampener
according to the preamble of claim 1, especially for containers used in the field
of the urban waste collection, provided with a container body to which the container
lid is suitably hinged.
[0002] The object of the invention is to achieve that, when the lid closes abruptly, the
noise pollution effect caused by the impact between both elements is substantially
dampened or minimised.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] In the aforementioned type of containers, both when the waste is deposited therein,
and when they are subsequently emptied into the refuse collection vehicles, the lid
normally abruptly hits against the opening of the body, being a very noisy manoeuvre,
with considerable noise pollution, whose effects are increased when the manoeuvre
is performed in the silence of the night.
[0004] To try to get round this problem, providing the lids of this type of containers with
a dampening device is known, in some cases metal springs and in others rubber blocks,
solutions which are largely unsatisfactory, due to the greater or lesser structural
complexity of the dampening device, with the consequent negative impact on costs,
or the little durability of said elements. Document
DE-A-43 15 554 discloses a container lid according to the preamble of claim 1 for a container of
waste products or materials, provided on its lower edge with a rim, inside which are
established reinforcements or thickenings which also determine a lower base or flat
surface towards which blind and vertical holes open designed to receive respective
dampening pivots, which may be of rubber, plastic or soft polyethylene, and which,
in any case, have a rod whereby they are inserted and fixed in the corresponding blind
orifice of the lid. This solution is relatively complex, not only because said pivots
constitute physically independent parts of the lid, and of a material different thereto,
which should be produced in independent manufacturing processes, but the subsequent
mounting of said pivots on the lid is also required, to which it is necessary to further
add the risk of loss thereof throughout the time of use of the container.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The container lid proposed by the invention resolves in a fully satisfactorily manner
the aforementioned problem, being a solution of maximum structural simplicity and
minimum cost, which offers optimal functional features, which are maintained with
time. According to the invention, the sound dampener of the container lid consists
of a type of strip by way of an arc, forming a single piece with the container lid
protruding with respect to the lower support edge of the container lid, said strip
comprising a window or groove allowing the elastic deformation of the strip upon impact.
The sound dampener may be repeated and distributed on suitably distributed points
to boost the dampening effect and is included in the plane corresponding to the lower
support edge of the lid, or positioned immediately outside or inside said plane.
[0006] In any case, during the lid-closing maneuver, it hits against the opening of the
container body via the midpoint of each one of said arcs or strips, causing an elastic
deformation therein which dampens the impact and which, consequently, also dampens
the noise pollution.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with
a preferred example of practical embodiments thereof, a set of drawings is attached,
being an integral part of said description, wherein the following is represented with
an illustrative, non-limiting character.
Figure 1. It shows, according to a perspective view, a container lid, provided with
a sound dampener in accordance with a first variant of the embodiment thereof, wherein
the lid incorporates a pair of dampeners, and they are positioned outside the imaginary
plane corresponding to the support edge thereof.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0008] In view of said figures, it can be observed how the sound dampener can be repeated
as many times as desired throughout the contour of the lid (1), but logically opposite
its hinging means (2) to the body, not represented in the drawings, is materialized
in a strip (3), produced as a single piece with the lid (1), i.e. from the material
of the latter and integrated therein.
[0009] Said strip (3) consists of a type of arc of reduced section, with convexity oriented
towards the container body, for which purpose, a window (4) is formed immediately
thereabove, which permits elastic deformation, said strip (3) being connected to a
bent external side projection (5) of the lid (1), as in the example of embodiment
shown in figures 1 and 2, and can be integrated in the lid edge (6) plane, as in the
case of figure 3, wherein the window (4) is boosted by a small curve concave notch
(7) of the edge (6), or can be positioned within said edge (6) of the lid, as in the
case of figure 4, wherein it is established on an internal reinforcement or thickness
(8), rigidized by means of a rib (9), in this case the window (4) consisting of a
groove parallel to the strip or arc (3).
[0010] Evidently, the solutions shown in the figures are only some of the possibilities
existing to that effect, obvious for someone skilled in the art, all of them having
the common denominator of the existence of said strip (3) in the form of an arc, forming
a single piece with the lid (1) and able to deform elastically, absorbing the impact,
when this occurs.
1. Container lid (1) with hinging means (2), comprising a sound dampener for absorbing
or dampening the sound generated by the container lid (1) hitting against a container
body in the closing maneuver thereof,
characterized in that the sound dampener consists of a type of strip (3) by way of an arc, forming a single
piece with the container lid (1) and protruding with respect to the lower support
edge (6) of the container lid (1),
said strip (3) comprising a window or groove (4) allowing the elastic deformation
of the strip (3) upon impact.
2. Container lid (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that said strip (3) is positioned in a plurality of suitably distributed points on the
container lid (1) opposite the hinging means (2).
3. Container lid (1) according to claim 2, characterized in that said strip (3) is associated with a bent external side projection (5) of the container
lid (1).
4. Container lid (1) according to claim 2, characterized in that said strip (3) is included in the plane corresponding to the lower support edge (6)
of the lid.
5. Container lid (1) according to claim 2,
characterized in that said strip (3) is positioned onto an internal reinforcement or thickness (8) on the
inner side of the lower support edge (6) of the container lid (1).

besagter Streifen (3) ein Fenster oder eine Einkerbung (4) umfasst, das/die die elastische
Verformung des Streifens (3) beim Aufprall ermöglicht.

wobei besagter Streifen (3) in einer Mehrzahl von entsprechend verteilten Punkten
auf dem Behälterdeckel (1) gegenüber dem Gelenkmittel (2) positioniert ist.

wobei besagter Streifen (3) mit einem gebogenen Außenseitenvorsprung (5) des Behälterdeckels
(1) verbunden ist.

wobei besagter Streifen (3) in der Ebene umfasst ist, die dem unteren Stützrand (6)
des Deckels entspricht.
5. Behälterdeckel (1) nach Anspruch 2,
wobei besagter Streifen (3) auf einer Innenverstärkung oder Stärke (8) auf der Innenseite
des unteren Stützrands (6) des Behälterdeckels (1) positioniert ist.

(6) du couvercle.
5. Couvercle de conteneur (1) conformément à la revendication 2, caractérisé par le fait que ladite bande (3) est positionnée sur un renfort intérieur ou épaisseur (8) sur le
côté intérieur du bord du support inférieur (6) du couvercle du conteneur (1).
