(54)	Security paper provided with a security feature exhibiting luminescence

(57) A security paper (10), comprising a substrate surface delimited by sides, is provided with a security feature (12a-12d) which exhibits luminescence. The security feature comprises at least one luminescent plastic fibre (20) consisting of a plastic and at least one luminescent compound, the plastic fibre having maximum transverse dimensions in the range from 2-50 micrometres such that it is not visible to the naked eye both in reflective light and in transmitted light, and the plastic fibre (20) extends between at least two sides (19a, 19b) of the security paper, and the luminescent plastic fibre (20) does not have any visually perceptible emission in the visible region under daylight conditions.
