BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a protective garment or cloth article for protecting
against troublesome insect stings.
[0002] As is known, a very important problem to be solved, mainly in hot months, is that
related to troublesome insect stings, such as mosquitoes, and the like, to which are
subjected, in particular, very delicate and infant skins.
[0003] For providing a protection, drugs or medicaments are known, which must be sprayed
on the skin, which would involve a lot of drawbacks, such as oiliness of the product
and irritability of the skin, together with an annoyance caused by such a product
on the skin.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to definitely solving the above
mentioned problem, by providing a protective garment or cloth article for protecting
from troublesome insect stings, which is adapted to provide an effective protective
barrier against said insects, in particular mosquitoes.
[0005] Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the invention is to
provide such a protective garment which, from an aesthetic standpoint, is similar
to any other garments, thereby providing a conventional and comfortable use thereof.
[0006] Another object of the invention is to provide such a protective garment which, owing
to its specifically designed construction, is very reliable and safe in operation.
[0007] Yet another object of the invention is to provide such a protective garment which
can be easily made starting from easily available elements and materials and which,
moreover, is very competitive from a mere economic standpoint.
[0008] According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects,
as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved
by a protective garment for protecting against troublesome insect stings, characterized
in that said protective garment comprises at least on its surface printed patterns
made by a printing ink containing fragrant and insect repelling substances.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more
apparent hereinafter from the following detailed disclosure of a protective garment
for protecting against troublesome insect stings, which is illustrated, by way of
an indicative, but not limitative, example in the accompanying drawings, where:
Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view illustrating a protective garment or cloth
article according to the present invention; and
Figure 2 is a further schematic view illustrating the protective garment as it is
worn by a user.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0010] With reference to the number references of the above mentioned figures, the protective
garment for protecting against troublesome insect stings according to the invention,
which has been generally indicated by the reference number 1, comprises a garment
body, indicated by the reference number 2, which can comprise a blouse, a shirt, a
pullover, a T-shirt, a pair of trousers, a skirt, and so on, and being made of a textile
material.
[0011] On the surface of said garment 2 are applied, by a conventional printing method,
printed patterns, indicated by the reference number 3, which are made of a printing
ink including fragrant and insect repelling substances.
[0012] More specifically, said ink is able of penetrating through the fabric material, thereby
embedding said substances which can be released in the time, and which, moreover,
are designed for resisting against a lot of washing operations, before loosing their
peculiar properties.
[0013] In this connection it should be apparent that the subject protective garment and/or
the fabric material thereof can be either partially and/or fully impregnated by said
fragrant and insect repelling substances.
[0014] It has been found, from performed tests, that very good results have been achieved
by using, as fragrant and insect repelling substances, citronella, geranium essences
and other essences, providing a twin function of releasing a pleasant perfume for
a user, and an additional function of providing a protective barrier against said
troublesome insects, in particular mosquitoes.
[0015] Thus, the use of citronella and geranium essences allows, by using a conventional
type of garment, to provide a very good protection through the skin, jointly with
a particular freshness sensation or feeling.
[0016] This approach would be particularly suitable for infant garments or cloth articles.
[0017] In this connection it should be moreover pointed out that such an approach can also
be used in any desired garments and for any desired type of use.
[0018] In practicing the invention, the used materials, provided that they are compatible
to the intended application, as well as the contingent size and shapes, can be any,
depending on requirements.

ink including fragrant and insect repelling substances.
2. A protective garment, according to the preceding claim, characterized in that said printing ink is adapted to penetrate into the garment forming fabric material.
3. A protective garment, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fragrant and insect repelling substances are adapted to resist against washing
operations on said protective garment.
4. A protective garment, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fragrant and insect repelling substances comprise citronella essences.
5. A protective garment, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said fragrant and insect repelling substances comprise geranium essence.
