(54) View angle controlling sheet and liquid crystal display apparatus using the same

(57) The present invention is to provide a view angle controlling sheet to be disposed between the light source and the display panel of a liquid crystal display apparatus, effective for limiting the light beam output angle. A view angle controlling sheet (S1) to be disposed between the light source (54) and the liquid crystal panel (52) of a liquid crystal display apparatus (50), wherein the view angle controlling sheet (S1) has lens parts (12,12,···) having a trapezoidal cross sectional shape arranged by a predetermined interval and the wedge parts (14,14,···) between the adjacent lens parts (12,12,···) is filled with a light absorbing material such that the wedge part (14) has the top end (18) disposed to the observer side and the bottom surface (17) to the light source side and with the premise that the angle formed by the slant face portion of the wedge part (14) and the normal of the light output plane is θ, θ is in a range of 3° ≤ θ ≤ 15°.
