(54) Contact trip assembly for fastening tool


(57) A fastening tool (10) including a housing (15), a magazine (12) connected to the housing (15) for storing a fastener, a driving mechanism disposed within the housing (15) for driving the fastener into a workpiece (W), a trigger assembly (14) pivotally attached to the housing (15) for activating the driving mechanism, the trigger assembly (14) comprising a main trigger, pivotally attached to the housing (15) and a supplemental trigger pivotally attached to the main trigger; and a contact trip assembly (100) comprising an upper contact trip contacting the supplemental trigger, a lower contact trip connected to the upper contact trip, wherein the upper and lower contact trips have teeth that mesh together for locking the upper and lower contact trips.
