(57) A bill processor includes a housing (1a), a bill insertion slot (3A), a bill transfer mechanism (7), a bill container (60) and a bill pressing mechanism (30). The bill transfer mechanism transfers the bill inserted from the bill insertion slot and discharges the bill toward a bill pushing area (10) positioned downstream. The bill pressing mechanism presses the bill discharged into the bill pushing area toward the bill container. The bill pressing mechanism includes a supporter attached to the housing, a pressing plate movable toward the bill container, a link member joining the supporter and the pressing plate. The link member has an opening and a moving member movable in the opening, and the moving member has a first end portion supported with respect to the supporter and a second end portion engaged with the pressing plate and movable with respect to the supporter.
